I've been on WhatsApp for 1 hour 36 minutes so far. They keep messaging me to say they'll message me whan somebody is available, and in the meantime, I should get on with my day.
They've interrupted my day five times now, to tell me to get on with my day.
It took nine and a half hours on Whatsapp for me. They've interrupted my day five times now, to tell me to get on with my day.

Bunch of fking s.
My Tivo box has never worked. It's been in the attic for at least four years.
My landline doesn't work now, because they've updated the system to digital, and the adapter they sent us is 10cm long. Our phone was 10m from the router (and my wife's dad was the onky person who ever called us on it).
So their answer is to try to (additionally) sell me an O2 sim contract so that they can reduce my entire package by £4.
I pointed outthat, as a new cusotmer, Imcan get BB only (whihc is what I want) for less than 50% of what I currently pay.
They told me I can't have that "because loyalty". So I told them I'll cancel once I have an alternative in place.
That took 7.75 hours.
So I'm looking at Talktalk, Giganet, Zen or Plusnet. Opinions/experience?

My wife is calling them to cancel as we have now booked Vodafone to come. We did this through topcashback and uswitch, so we received £50 in cash, will be getting a £150 Amazon voucher, 500mb fibre for £30 a month. We were paying VM £33 a month for 140mb BB.

What sites are recommended to find the best new customer broadband deals?
Also, are people shifting to the same provider but under a partners name to get new customer deals?
Re the new customer bit, I don't think you can do that for 12 months. Also, are people shifting to the same provider but under a partners name to get new customer deals?
I went onto the VM website a week ago and started a What'sapp chat with them. The chat was running for over 24 hours and in that time I had no live conversation... However, eventually, having repeated myself a few times, I'm cancelling due to your appalling customer service, nothing to do with cost, they agreed to cancel. (Incidentally it was to do with forthcoming increase from £37.25 to £47/m for fibreoptic alone.) I received all the emails about cancellation, what the final bill would be, when the service would end etc and then started getting the phone calls. Mostly I didn't clear their security system so they couldn't proceed, which was fine with me.
Today, they've called me and offered me an increase in speed to 250mbps at £17/m for 18 months. The last offer they made was £45/m for 250mbps and a free SIM card, which I declined of course. I'm intending to sell the house this year if I can, so checked what the situation was in that case. If I move to an area served by VM, they'll move the service for free and continue the contract. If they don't serve the area, they'll cancel free of charge. Seems like a win-win.

we went through this in October last year, got a decent enough deal for 18 months to stay.
had a communication from them this week, the price is going up by £15. If we want to cancel then we have to pay a £70 early exit fee AND we have to send them the Tivo box back.
Why do you have to pay the early exit fee? The communication I've received says "If you’re not happy with this or any of the other changes announced in this email, you can change or cancel your package"had a communication from them this week, the price is going up by £15. Wife cancelled VM today. They offered her some "deals", all more expensive than what we are getting from Vodafone. They asked if we really needed 500mbps download. That's beside the point, the point is that the best VM could offer us was still more expensive than Vodafone, which was half the speed.
Going to be glad to he away from VM. We hadn't been able to move before as we didn't have the infrastructure in place. Now we do. Bye bye VM.

Yes you can cancel, but there is a fee. There is no get out of jail free card because the reason you want to cancel is that they are raising the prices apparently.simon_harris said:

Currently you should be able to cancel for free due to the price increase. They are changing their T&Cs so that in future you cannot cancel for free due to a routine annual price raise.
I had the email recently and was facing a £14 hike to just over £80 a month, called them yesterday and they offered £6 a month off so i said to cancel.
They called me this morning offering the faster internet and bigger TV package for £46 a month so about £35 a month better off with more service.

Today they tried to tell me that I can only give 30 days notice. Exactly 30 days. Not a minimum of 30 days.
I told them where to go, and if they didn't accept my 60 odds days notice today, I would like them to raise a formal complaint. They suddenly decided anything over 30 days notice is fine.
Muppets.
