I should have virgin fibre to the house available by April when they complete their street cabling work. I only need a fast BB of around 50mb. Is Virgin worth it?
They'll sell a minimum of 125Mb, it'll cost you £15 but after 12 months jump up to £394 a month. (Slight tongue in cheek but they don't do "customer loyalty.)
Who does in that industry?
Agreed. Currently with Vodafone for BB and mobile and I can get better deals elsewhere even after being loyal for over 10 years. Time to switch both.

I finally got my letter this morning, an increase of £21.50 a month. I currently have the full everything package and I am currently paying £118.25 (not sure where the extra £10.25 has come from, im sure the contract was £108).

My current discount runs out in June, which would increase the monthly cost with the new increase to £169 a month. That’s stupid and I’m now bored of these increases. Been with them 10 years.

Zen internet ordered this morning, now need to sort out tv, I didn’t release Virgin don’t do TV only packages, so will spend the afternoon looking at what’s about.

Had my letter a few days ago, £7 a month increase.

Straight to their WhatsApp service, took about 12 messages and 1 hour of my time, price rise rescinded (via discounting me for the next 12 months) after I threatened to leave.

Very silly. But I suppose for every 1 like me that will question it 100 won’t.

Apologies. I thought you were implying that they exclusively don’t do customer loyalty.

Ah right, I haven't experienced other companies so can't comment. I just know that generally speaking businesses should reward loyalty to encourage customers to keep coming back. Maybe I need to run my business differently. biggrin

If I currently M500, is it an quick and easy process to get an O2 sim from a reseller and then get upgraded to 1gigabit free of charge?

Just got my letter and worked out they wanted a 26% rise.

5 minutes on with a 'bot' and they've waived it for 6 months...which is when my contract ends anyway.

The letter also said they'll be be changing to 3.9% + RPI (13.4% in Jan'23), which is what they currently use anyway, so don't know why it's mentioned...unless it's purely to change the implementation date from March to April???

But the ONS no longer regard RPI as a good indicator of inflation, but as it's usually higher than CPI/CPIH it'll be better for VM. The best one for consumers, and the one the ONS/Government wants to switch to would be CPIH (8.8% in Jan'23)

Just been called with a "deal" (quotes used on purpose!).

350Mbps and 10Gb O2 sim for £39!?

Alternative was 250Mbps and 100Gb sim for the same price. Oddly, a little bit more tempting as I do like to watch videos without having to connect to whatever wifi is available when I'm out.

Currently, they've got 75GB for £14 on their website.

My current deal - paying £30 for 125Mbps and £6 for 10Gb (ie £36 total). I guess that means £3 increase to have a 100Gb sim. Essentially £10 for 100Gb which is very useful to me for video purposes. (I have recently been making videos while in the car or at the tennis club, and waiting until I got home before uploading them!)

Ok, I've just gone with the 250Mbps and 100Gb O2 deal for £39pm.
When she broke it down, it will be £24pm invoice from VM and £15 from O2. I'm quite happy with that as I'm currently paying £30 for 100Mbps BB and £6 for 10Gb for mobile. So my total fee is going from £36 to £39 and there won't be a price increase in April.

Also, she threw in 6 months of Amazon Prime (£9pm) and I will definitely benefit from that.

Mine is still £24.25 for BB only, until Dec. No sign of any rises just yet…
Unfortunately nothing else comes close for speed here. Only rebadged openreach which is pants at mine.
Hopefully another decent service will roll up. So that I can do the renewal flip like insurances..

M125 broadband and basic telly and phone.

Was £36 a month, then going up to £45.

I phoned last night and refused the first offer. Second offer was then reduced to £28.80 a month for the remaining 12 months.

Simple and fairly painless.

There was the £x discount offered on the hold music but I didn't know if that was on the original rate or the new increased one.

ETA I'd have been quite happy staying @ £36!

I just don't get how you got that so easily.
You phoned the standard number, they made you an offer, you said no and they made a second offer of £28.80?

Yep. I dialed 150 and that was that.

That was on the "thinking of leaving us" option.

£28.80 from now until 6 March 2024
Then on 7th March 2024 it goes to £36.00
But then, only 8 days later it leaps to £59.00 eek

It's when the big discounts stop.

My M200 (250) is still £24.25 a month, runs out in December. Got that when they wanted to hike from £35 to £45, si it cost them. A weird way of doing things Richard.
No other choice here TBH as the Openreach line is rubbish & no other fibre to the house.
Unless Starlink but pricy .
Hopefully it won’t shoot up..
