Ahh virgin

Having got the lot with them Basic TV, Both sports and Broadband, which i manged to gey them down to 107.00 last year. The letter was upping it by another 21.00 from May

Rang them to find out how much notice they wanted. The woman just kept on asking me questions a why etc I just repeated I only need to know your notice period. Dhe would not give this but kept on as to why, whats wrong, etc. In the end i asked her HOW LONG? finally she said 30 days.

Now armed with that went trolling around to Sky and BT ans Plusnet to get the best package, or a mixture of same

Got Sky for 98.00 so went for it.

Cancelled virign, with an overlap. Two days later having received the Sky pucks and got one working upstairs, had a phone call from VM.. they were offering me 89.00 to stay, Now i might be raosted for this, but i told her, that IF VM hasd not been so aggressive on the initial call, but answered to question,I might have stayed. but i had signed with Sky and was not going back on my word, even though i could cancel within 14 days./ Just told her that if if gthey wanted to keep customers to get negotiating earlier that watch the ship sail and trying to swim after it.

HOWEVER this experience will prove benficial at the end of the sky contract by getting the opposition quotes before, but i was that bloody incensed with the initial letter made the red mist come down. Nose of to spite face time lol

Anyone know of a decent customer service number to ring if they claim you are in arrears? My boss has just joined VM and is having issues with their call centre online chat facility!

Curious, when people are getting new deals are you having to pay the £35 'connection' fee? It's one-time

Not me for my better deal. Let's say they insist on it, divide £35 by the new contract length and decide if it's still a better deal.

Slightly off topic but is anyone having problems connecting to Virgin Media broadband this morning? Just trying to find out if it's my router or the network..

I'm guessing some overnight planned work did not go as intended:

Cheers. I'll send them a message to tell them to switch it off, wait 30 seconds, then switch it back on again whistle

After 30 years in IT the amount of situations that resolves for no real known reason is frankly staggering....

besides if you switch off and back on again and it still doesn't work then you know it is a real problem worth looking at!

Yep, still down for me. Unfortunately no meetings for me this morning so I can't even use it as an excuse to get out of them!

Ours was down when I left for work. Turning it off and on again didn't help smile My wife is saying that she can get on her work VPN but websites won't load.

Same here, all on now but some websites don't load. Tried Times Radio and can get that but Virgin Radio and Talk Radio won't load that's a bit odd as they are all in the same building on the South Bank.

Has been intermittent here since about 4pm.

Just glad I have a 4/5g dongle as back-up, otherwise the boss wouldn't be getting his holiday reading materials before he left to get his flight!

This is what all those years of price increases to 'invest in the network' have given us wink

As someone who still has to visit an actual building to work, I don’t know the answer to this. What happens to those ‘working’ from home when this happens?

Is it a “sick” day or just a bonus day off?

Same here, South Coast.

Was offline yesterday morning for a bit.

Then went down again this morning, came back and was down again late this afternoon.

No text updates today though.
