I've ended up staying at 50mb for £21 a month. Happy enough with that, £27 a month saved.

Aye. Down from 100mb but for all I'm actually doing nowadays it should be plenty.

All of which reminds me

I looked in on my account online and had the "free" speed boost offer
75 to 100mbps
Not sure but looks to be being rolled out in certain areas etc

I just checked my account there, still at the 100mb and there's a free offer to get a new hub for 200mb.

I asked for the new superhub when i did my retentions, however I read up on it before hand and it is has a flaw which still hasn't been fixed so still in the box. Read up on forums, latency or something iirc, gamers are especially upset.

You might want to leave it a couple of weeks. Its possible that offer relates to before your recent money saving change.
My money saving adjustment was done months ago.

Speed boosts, posted speed results, all worthless as they’re becoming really bad with throttling and their service sucks nowadays. I miss the old Nynex/cable and wireless days.

Yeah it'll be interesting to see if there's an extra offer available once my account's been updated.

I am now out of contract with Virgin Media. I pay £75 a month for the following package:
Full House Bundle XL TV
Talk More Evenings and Weekends & Line Rental
Additional Tivo Box
Vivid 200 Optical Fibre
I contacted Virgin Media and was offered the same package for the same price for another 12 month contract. Is this a reasonable price or should I be pushing for something more. Thanks.

I've just binned it after 15+ years & was paying more than you. The offer they made was derisory, not only that, it was higher than the new customer offers & they seemed to think that was a good idea.

Gone to BT with fibre broadband, TV Max & evening & weekend calls. £30 per month after paying a year's line rental up front (which is only £18.99 anyway. If you pay up front you get a month free so its worth doing)

Ordered via quidco - £95 cashback & BT also giving away a £100 prepaid mastercard with that. No brainer. Will also buy a Now TV box for the odd bit of Sky Sports I might want to watch

Thanks. This may be the way to go for me then.

It would be far simpler if you could get a complete package from 1 supplier at a good price, for the sake of simplicity!
Mine are all over the place now, but pretty good overall:-

Virgin 200Mb fibre (just upgraded FOC from 100Mb) The rests Openreach over my copper line is absolute rubbish here. Tried BT & Vodafone but both totally unstable & slow. To be expected I guess, as the same Openreach line.
SkyQ, no Sport or Movies. 2 'extension' boxes
2 sim only mobiles, 40gb + unlimited calls + Spotify on 1, NowTv Entertainment on the other (both of which can be shared & NowTv Entertainment on the smart TVs)

£101 a month all in

Give it time.....answer the 0800 number and all will be fine. I did the same. A potential £52 came down to £36 a month.

Is that all in, no extra line rental?

All in but only a weekend call package, not that anyone now uses our home phone.
