I pulled the HDD out of my old Virgin boxes, I also take them out of old Sky boxes, good to have a few spares.

It would be doubly handy for me as my new smart telly can do recording if you can plug a hard drive in the USB

They are taking the piss now. I agreed a new contract with them at the beginning of March for 60 quid. They've billed me for 76 quid, now they are denying it was every agreed. They previously said the best they could do was 66 until I called up and got it for 60. They had 66 on the system before but told me to phone back at the start of the month for a better price.
Having the exact same issue. Agreed new contract in Aug 2019 of £53.50 a month. If you log in to your account you can view your new agreement, it clearly states I'm supposed to be paying £53.50 a month. My bills look like this;

Sep 19 - Dec 19 - £56.50
Jan 2020 - £59.10

At that point I phone up and complained, they re-credited me £15 to make up the months I was paying £56 and they assured me that after my Feb payment of £45 I would only pay £53.50 a month. Just got March's bill... £60.63!

Can't phone up as their call centres are closed and their online form to submit a complaint is broken with a 606 error.

I've got a half price sky Sports and Cinema deal ending mid May, I want to make sure that the deal is cancelled and doesn't go to full price (only wanted it for movies and F1), will likely go for the NOW TV Sky Cinema package which is £12 pm which can be cancelled whenever, Virgin want £22 for the same thing.

However their webchat is directing me to calling them, I just can't be arsed though (even though I'm going to have to), hopefully they will put movies on for what NOW TV are charging, I'd be happy with that.

PITA that I can't cancel the half price movies and sports online.
Well happy days here, as my half price Movies and Sport are due to end 15th May, I've just rung them up stating that I don't want to continue beyond this half price deal and don't want Sports, as I only have it for the F1 which there won't be any of this year but would like Movies to remain.

He said he'd have look and see what deal he could do for me, at this point I thought "oh Yeahh, heard this before", currently I'm on Full House, 2 V6 boxes, 100Mb broadband, Movies and Sports and I'm paying £104 pm, which will jump to £137 after 15th May.

He came back, and immediately offered what I currently have including Movies, less the Sports and upped my broadband to 200Mb, all for £79 pm.......I said yes!

What was interesting was, you got the impression given his efficency and lack of fluff, Virgin just want to get through the calls as quickly and effectively as possible and if that means offering a decent deal off the bat then just go for it, it also helped that it wasn't some Indian call centre, yes it as a guy WHF and the signal dropped a few times but it was just totally painless.

You managed to get through then. How long on hold? Which buttons did you press? I'm trying again now, been on hold for 30 mins.

150 on my phone, don't recall what I selected exactly but it was definately in relation to what I was calling for ie a change of package as opposed to getting round it by selecting something not relevant, total call including on hold was 35 minutes.

I’d echo what was said above. They were very quickly to just give me what I asked for, no hassle which was very different to the response I got pre-lockdown.

I had about a 30-40 minutes wait to get through

I just got through after 40 mins. I'm on standard 100mb BB and phone only, was paying £27/m, it was going up to £44/m. They've offered me £28.50/m which is not too bad, I'm 'thinking about it' and will get back to them.

I usually swap ISP every contract and get best deals with cash back etc. Problem is swapping at the moment, can't get a 'BT' line activated so will probably take the Virgin deal for another 12 months.

So I agreed a new contract for 60 for full house, 200mb and Bt sport in March, they put it through as £71. I paid £60 of it online at the end of March and emailed saying they had made a mistake. I never got a reply, then they ent a bill dated 8th April for £90 to be paid NOW. I didn't get the paper bill until yesterday by which time they had throttled my internet speed to 20mb/s and cut off all my TV channels.

They aren't responding to messages, online chat is closed and you can't get through on the phone line for hours. They are bds. I'm working from home so need the internet but do they care, do they fk.

They owe me about £40 but shut up shop and are holding loyal customers to ransom.

I phoned them back, got through in under 20 mins, spoke to a nice lady who's working from home in Manchester. Am now on a new 12 month contract at £28.50/m, not too bad. Will review next year or, when they put the price up.

Probably good because it's not their fault is it?

Well it is really, they could put a service in but can't be bothered as it will be too expensive to do. I really can't see how they can justify making you pay but they usually do.

Would you expect the same if you moved to a desert island? (extreme I know). If there isn't a service there, that's that.

They offer service 2 roads away as we looked at a house there and they had it.

Just to add my experience of the yearly retention deal dance.

Mix bundle with 200MB broadband, Mix TV (Tivo, 151 channels, no sport or movies) and home phone Talk Weekends.

Paid £45 a month on year 1. End of year 1 jumped to £60 a month - call to standard Virgin number reduced to £51 for 12 months, retentions not involved.
Paid £51 a month on year 2. End of year 2 jumped to £66 a month - literally just got off a 30 min call with them. Immediately offered £56 a month, nothing below that, even removing unwanted phone package. Said I might as well cancel, chap then states he can talk with manager (of course) and 5 minutes later we have it back down to £51 again.

I'm sure I don't have the absolute cheapest package, but it compares well with the advertised offers for new customers. Hope this helps.

I was paying £70 for 200Mb and Full TV without Movies and Sports, it was going to go up to £83 at the end of my contract.

Phoned up yesterday and was told the best price would be £70 so I cancelled. Got a call today offering same package for £49. I never watch the TV so I was going to drop to broadband only but I don't think it would be much cheaper.

Just off the phone wth Virgin after receiving my latest bill, it has gone from £43 to £52 and then rising again at start of August to £62, was only on hold for 20mins and spoke with a nice chap, no messing no waffle and 5 mins later (took an age for him to read the spiel out) I'm on the same package for £44 a month for 18 months, happy with that smile
