Currently on 200mb for £26 a month. A £21 a month loyalty discount applied.

Called up and was offered £32 best deal. I’ve said I’ll cancel and will go with BT...
Based on my experience, they'll call you in the next 48-72 hours to offer you a deal to stay... Good luck! :-)

After quite a few years, on 200mb broadband and just phone line, cancelled aswell. Initially accepted the offer of £49 a month but after reading here, clearly I can do better and loads of options locally. But am hoping they call and can then get it reduced plus I want to up broadband speeds anyway as need higher upload. Once I hear from cancellations I will post as will gauge time from cancelling to get a call.

No phone call today.
I’ll add that they did offer 100mb for £25 but I want 200mb for £26-28.
I don’t mind it being a couple of pound more than what I’m paying now for the next 18 months.

100mb would probably be more than enough and better than the offerings elsewhere such as TalkTalk / BT who suggest 25mb speeds for my address laugh

18 month contract but theres only a small fee (£25?) to get out of it early
Having looked into the T & Cs it's up to a maximum of £240 to get out of a Virgin contract early.
I've also got a £3.50/month increase but will be paying it as I plan to move house this year and it's likely it might not be into a VM area.

Got the call and email. Upgraded broadband speed to 350, phone line and sim for £40. Will cancel wifes mobile and she will use the sim. So a good saving just for cancelling.

I'm out of contract with Virgin, have been for a wee while.

Was offered the Ultimate Oomph bundle for £91 instead of £139, new 18 month contract. Same thing for new customers is £79.

Assuming its time to give cancellation notice and wait for a call? How long after giving notice do they normally call you?

Currently going through the retentions game..

Coming from Maxit TV, 200mb broadband, talk weekend, with two V6 boxes. £46.50 a month.

Offered...

1) Same as we have now. £54 a month, or £44 if we drop the second box.

2) Mixit TV with one pick pack, 200mb broadband, 5gb SIM, two V6 boxes. £45 a month, or would do £35 if we dropped the second box.

Not really sure. To be honest we rarely watch any of the extra channels. We just watch occasional BBC etc and everything else we tend to watch is through Netflix etc. However it is nice to have BT Sport now and again.

We use the second box daily, but can't help but think that the second option at £35, and then buy some kind of streaming device might be better and seems a good deal. We don't need the 5Gb SIM but sure we can find a use for it.

Is there a streaming device of some kind that will give us HD quality live TV (BBC, ITV, C4 etc) as well as access to the usual catch up stuff, Netflix etc. So we can ditch the second box?

What's people's thoughts on this?

How long does it take for the email/contract confirmation to come through for these offers accepted via the loyalty team call back? Also, did anyone get asked for their date of birth when adding a new mobile SIM into the bundle?

Cancelled my M100 connection earlier in the week as current discount period is coming to an end. Currently paying £20 for M100 broadband only but it’s due to go up to £37 + 2.50 with the March price hike! The first line retentions team offered M100 for £23.50 on an 18-month contract which I declined. Long story short I later got a call from a loyalty team rep working from home who offered M100 + mobile SIM card (unlimited mins + 5GB data) for £20 on an 18-month contract which I was super happy to accept. But he then wanted my DOB for a credit check for the new mobile SIM account which I reluctantly gave as there’s no way of knowing if these loyalty team call backs are from a genuine VirginMedia employee.

Anyway, I'm keen to know how long it takes for the email confirmation to come through and if anyone else was asked for their date of birth when adding a new mobile SIM to the bundle.
Many Thanks!

I had my call from Retentions Weds night, and the email confirming changes on Friday afternoon - so quite close to the 48 hours. Probably nothing to worry about just yet.

Got my renewal coming up in March expecting the usual runaround trying to get the best deal which will change depending who you speak too, at what time of the month, day and time.

I'm on Big Bundlewith BT Sport, 200mb broadband, Talk weekend and paying £66 which compared to other deals people are getting I have been getting shafted. This was going to be £71.

Told them in November I will be leaving unless someone phones me with a better deal. Told them last time I wanted the new customer deal, they refused. I said well if I leave and come back in 12 or 18 months I'll get a new customer deal so how about cut the crap.

Still waiting on a call but expecting I'll have to jump through hoops, retentions line, threaten to leave then get a call giving me a rubbish deal and then them knocking a few quid off which will be a good bit above new customer deals.

Managed to get it down to £66 from £71, then it's going up to £78.

We got a better than "new Customer" deal, same as you we cant offer that, so we cancelled, once you do that the retentions department calls and gives you the deal new customers are on or in our case slightly a better one.

Thanks. Yes, got the confirmation email come through for the new bundle contract and mobile SIM today so it's all good. I wish they had a more secure approach for offering loyalty customer deals than expecting you to answer a call from a random mobile number and give out personal info for the mobile SIM credit check. In most cases I'd have hung-up on that sort of call out of suspicion.

I just managed to re-negotiate ours

We swapped to the Ultimate Ooomph as it has pretty much what we had as bundles/packages

Was £133 now £94. I think there might have been more discount to be had but not too bad for 45 mins on the phone smile

My 18 months is up on March 9th, I cancelled tonight.
I was paying £43 a month for the M package. I only use broadband and 200Mbps is fine for my needs. Best they could offer tonight was £42 a month for another 18 months.

Has anyone got a superhub 4 yet? Not sure if I’ll be able to get one from them when/if the retentions team call me.
