My package is ending, 350m broadband and telephone, no calls, £23 a month.
They would only offer £33pm, I said that's nearly 50% increase so no, please cancel.
I bet they just cut me off.

My stepdad is paying £122 a month! for

125gb broadband
Basic tv package with 2 boxes
Anytime calls
Kids tv add on

I've been ringing them to try and get a better deal, first they offered the Volt package (basically everything) for £88 a month. Ive asked them for their bigger bundle deal which is for new customers for £39.50 a month which would be ideal but so far 4 different customer service advisors have hung up on me!

£19 deal for what speed and contract length?
£100 bill credit, again what contract length are they expecting me to signup for to receive this?

I also stipulated during my disconnection call that I wanted my contact details removing from ALL of their marketing communication methods. Guess they ignored that request. hehe

well, the best broadband price and speed they offer at the moment is this, so £19 looks cheap !

I now have 900 Mbps up and down, for £25 per month through toob.

That £19 per month no longer looks cheap. wink

You'd like to think so wouldn't you?

We did - then the next bill came followed by the threat of court action if we didn't pay......

Interesting, I had one with my previous package which I never used, my renewal on 31st December, it wasn't even mentioned which I benefited from with the subsequent saving.

We've just renewed our 18mnt contract with VM; every time it's a battle with them and been with them since August 2008!

We were on Max TV, Evenings & weekends phones (which we never used/aren't connected) and 500Mb fibre broadband - £70 a month

They upped it to £130 a month; called the and said no thanks; reduce the package to BB only; they were asking £80 a month for that; so asked them to cancel it...

Came back with another offer for same as we previously had, plus Sky package (not sports, just movies/tv shows etc) - £78 a month...

How the feck do they do it and why do they have to make it such a ballache every time?! mad

Eventually managed to get them to do the same offer but without the mobile sim, and cheaper than I was previously paying. Probably could have got them down more but had other stuff to do

Had a call out of the blue from VM yesterday.

I have been with them for years for a very basic TV and landline service that never delivers the speed claimed (which I don't actually need most the time) but it has been very reliable, and I have not been keen to change with a need to WFH.

It has been going up and up though and am now at c £80 per month out of contract. Recently had Hyperoptic set up in the street and have a 5g signal so with more options I ported my landline to a VOIP provider in prep for moving.

VM called to say they were sorry I was leaving etc etc, at which point I had to clarify I was not "leaving" just amending my package (which has not come down to £58 pcm). I took the opportunity to whinge about prices and explain I now have alternatives which I will be considering, at which point they offered me straight off taking £37pcm off my current £58pcm eek and when I said the speeds were never what was claimed, a free boost to 250 mbps from my current 125 (which never gets over 50-60). Haven't used the TV box much as the picture quality has been very poor for ages - free upgraded box offered too.

Only downside is 18 month contract, but @ £22 pcm difficult to argue with that and can't see Hyperoptic bettering it, albeit they do £32 pcm on a month to month rolling.

I am wary of the "hassle" of the internal install from Hyperoptic and am trying to find out what that actually involves.

I've just cancelled mine. I was on £26 a month for m250 BB plus a couple of boosters as the hub didn't go much further than the room it was in. It went up to £70 off deal. They've offered me the same for £33 but looking on here, some are much cheaper for the same thing? I'll see whether I get a call in a week or so to discuss. 20 years with VM, unfortunately the only option I have is sky or BT at 67mbps. No one offering 5g yet.
