New screen fitted Saturday and phone looks like new again. But....

Bixby is beginning to annoy me. Not only does it launch every time you accidentally touch the button - but I just sent a text and the poxy thing gives me a notification telling me I can send texts with bixby.

And Bixby home is the only bixby app you can disable notifications for.

I used package disabler Pro on my S5. Tempted to try and disable Bixby on the S8 with it, but when I tried to enable it over the weekend it took me to the Knox screen!

BXActions worked OK but I found it was very hit and miss. It worked fine but often seemed to "reset" and had to be enabled again.

I use AdHell now, simply disabled Bixby all together. Happy days smile

I'll use Package Disabler Pro tonight - might as well, since I already paid for it on my last phone.
Could remap the button first I suppose, but I don't really want "useful" apps launching accidentally all the time either.

Just bought a S8+ on a complete whim this morning even though I've got an iPhone 7 and Nexus 6P. But the deal from Samsung seemed like a no brainer in light of the iPhone X price.

£66 down then £24.95 a month for 24 months interest free. Free Gear VR3 thing too.

Samsung have finally relented on Bixby and let you turn it off - info below but essentially accept the new Bixby update and you can either toggle it off or disable it in the settings now.

Works a treat, I never managed to find a decent app that just disabled it without something not quite being 100%.

Finally giving in and going to a smaller screen after having the Nexus 6 for 3 years or so.

I can get the S8+ for £179.99 minus £110 trade in on my phone and £25 discount with unlimited calls/texts and 5GB of data for £37.99 a month.

Seems like a reasonable deal?

Depends what you can justify, i got the s8+ with unlimited mins/texts and 5gb internet for £44/month with £125 upfront. That was back on the day it got announced, ordered it straight away through 02. Looking at the deals now, they dont seem too far away from that

Missus was going to get the S8+ but decided to get the Note 8 for some reason.

Tried to convince her the S8+ was a petter phone (based on bigger battery and same hardware)

I've been happy with mine. Bought the dual sim version through my employer discount scheme for £662 and use a VM monthly sim £13 for 8GB (plus 4GB roll over if not used) per month.

Dropped my s8+ today, gutted. Has a rather expensive screen protector on which has shattered on the edge, I'm hoping its just the protector and not the actual screen!! Dont fancy putting a new screen on it frown

Shouldn't have - i had a tempered glass one on mine and shut it in the boot of the Evora, right where the bump stop comes down on (why did lotus make a ledge the perfect width for a phone there?) and it held up pretty damn well! Only casualty was the 9H glass protector!

I've just ordered an S8. I have been impressed with the Spigen case on my HTC. What are the alternatives I could consider to give the best protection? Any recommendations for a wireless charger?

Spigen are great on Galaxys, had one on each of my phones and they have all been dropped and all survived!
