I managed to drop the phone at work today. Even in the case it must have caught the bottom corner of the screen. I'm left with a little spider in the bottom corner and a few longer cracks across the screen.

It's not hugely noticeable and everything still works.

What will it cost to fix? Will it still be waterproof?

I've got insurance through my bank. It's £75 excess but I notice they supply refurbished handsets. Will they still be waterproof if the screen has been replaced?

£300 was the cheapest I found a couple of months ago. The glass and the screen are bonded I believe, hence the price. I can't imagine any reason why it wouldn't be waterproof after a repair.

Replacement glass is about £20 on eBay

Wouldn't you then need to get the old glass off the screen ad the new glass onto it...which I think may be glued together. Without it looking like a primary school project smile

I find it hard enough getting a screen protector on without air bubbles, and am sure I'm not alone!

It does appear to be one of the harder phones to take apart

I called the Samsung repair centre and was told it's
£250. They also said that they can't keep up with broken screens. There's a few more due in before the week is out, but they will go very quickly and I'd need to reserve one.

Give Digiland in Telford a call, they are an authorised Samsung repair agent.
