Wouldn't it make more sense to get a more expensive printer with cheaper replacement toners?

Buy this and toners are £30 a set.
Putting the fact that the LBP7010 has been replaced by the 7100, where can you find toners for £30 a set?

£30 each maybe ........

That's really cheap ... not sure I'd want to risk them though.

I had a compatible fail once in a Samsung BW Laser, made a real mess and the printer was totalled.

I do use remanufactured though, and not had any issues with them ..... so far wink

Hardly a risk if the alternative is spending the same as a new printer...

Well it is if you bought the printer on the basis that the toners were dirt cheap.

Much better to buy a printer with greater capacity toners in the first place.

£120 will get you one which ships with 3k toners.

I have a Canon MP640 which gets very little use. It has never blocked up, BUT it flippin' drinks ink. I don't know what it does, but I keep having to replace the tanks, it must just use loads to flush the nozzles every time I switch it on.

That's exactly what it is doing.

Leaving it switched on and printing something ever week or so should actually use less ink.

You could set up a job in windows using task scheduler to print something weekly to keep the heads clear.
