I hate myself for even considering getting an X. I seem to keep umming and ahhing about it. It's not rational, it's very expensive for what it is, t's a compromised device that will probably see a redesign with the X2, my 6S+ is doing perfectly fine. Ahhhhhhh.
I’m in the same boat since replacing my 6 battery last week. It was intolerable before and a newer better phone coming out was the nail in the coffin; now it’s working fine again and the X suddenly looks like a VERY expensive “nice to have”...The X design will take over as the 'standard' design within about 2 years I reckon and costs will drop to more normal phone prices.
Until then, it seems ludicrously overpriced considering the 8+ has identical internals.
A few hundred extra quid just to have the X? Madness to me at the moment.
Theyll be sold out for months

Is there really going to be that much demand for a £1000 plus mobile phone, I went to John Lewis to get my 8 Plus and they had loads of stock in all colours, were people waiting for the X ?
Quite happy with the 8, the only thing i was interested about the X was the Oled screen, rest is either the same or not interested, facial recognition nah.

...Well, it's not that much more than the phone you got, is it?
I think if they changed the iPhone 8 design rather than keep the iphone 6 design, there would be a lot less interest in the X.
That said, hold the iPhone 8 next to a high end phone and the screen is night and day. The display on the 8, while "good enough" is far from high end. The X will probably be on par with the competition so that could be a big draw.

From what I have read, everyone is waiting for the X.Quite happy with the 8, the only thing i was interested about the X was the Oled screen, rest is either the same or not interested, facial recognition nah.
Even some people who have bought an 8 are considering them (as evidenced just on here!).
They will be sold out on Apple's website in seconds. I dont think the 8 really had that much demand on launch day at least certainly not like previous years.

8 Plus coming today as I smashed my 6 screen over the weekend. Decent deal from Voda with 26gig / month. Just a bit worried about the size of the thing.
It did take getting used to for me (last phone was the SE) however I really like the size. I’m actually worried I won’t now get on with the slightly Smaller x (albeit larger screen). toastybase said:

I'm hoping to pre-order the X tomorrow, is the general consensus the Apple store App is the best way then?
John Lewis will prob offer a better warranty. I will never buy direct from apple when they only offer 12 months on an ultra premium productEdited to add-yes jl. 2 yrs, apple 1 yr. same price
