Actually looking at it, buying the phone from apple over 24 months and switching to SIM only would be cheaper, SIM only deals on EE don't seem to be that great though...
£1968 for 24 months - £1000 for the phone = 968 for 24 months phone service, which works out to £40.10 a month. Unless you're using 100gb of data, seems like a rip off to me.jamoor said:

Unless you're using 100gb of data, seems like a rip off to me.I was on their max plan when it first started and it was great for me as I was spending more on EU roaming than I was on line rental. Now it's included in the SIM only plans I can't see the point. Never seem to go over 15GB data and hardly ever watch BT Sport. If I wanted to pay monthly for the phone I think you can do that via Apple now anyway.

24 but with annual upgrade, I'm presuming that just means next year I can take out another 24 month contract without waiting the extra 12 months?
It just means they 'let' you upgrade early, but at 12 months there is a hefty fee. Usually your outstanding line rental with a bit of a discount. So at £81 a month, in 12 months time your early upgrade fee will likely be £600+ Only if you stay with EE though and take out another 24 month contract (which again has a 12 month upgrade option). Mobile operators love it though as it get's you in a loop where you stay and your contract never really gets shorter. After 12 months if you want the new phone going you either buy the new phone outright and pay the £81 for another 12 months - which is hard to justify. Or take their upgrade (which appears cheaper) and be stuck or another 24 months.

Has anyone found a proper case for the 8 Plus? All the ones I find are repackaged 7 Plus cases but as the 8 has the glass back I'm guessing there will be dedicated one coming. I'm thinking Otterbox Defender type ones.
I thought they were identical in size?chrispmartha said:

EE sporadically do really good deals which make their standard prices a bit of a joke. I wouldn't be afraid to switch.gregs656 said:

I think p1stonhead was pointing out that if they're the same size, the cases for the 7 should fit the 8 just fine, glass back or not.
I've tried an Otterbox and yesit fits like a glove. The one I tried, however, didn't seem to have any absorbtion at all so I'm guessing a drop would still smash the back. The Defender seems to be a lot better so I'll give that a go. Overall the 8 seems decent enough, nothing ground breaking but I'm happy with it so far.bad company said:

Yes they fit but you wont be able to charge wirelessly unless you remove the case.p1stonhead said:

Yes they fit but you wont be able to charge wirelessly unless you remove the case.I use wireless charging on my 6 but I need a special case to do it.
The point of wireless charging is lost on me - either the phone or the wireless charger needs plugged in so what's the advantage (unless a 2 second saving from putting the phone down rather than sticking a wire into it )?
