£1k for a phone though... I mean jeez. If it's $999 price tag is true it's pretty much a certainty it'll be £999 here too "because of Brexit" etc (remember Apple hiked their prices due to that). Cue someone pointing out that tax is calculated per state so $999 isn't the final price (but it could be in some places), etc.
I paid more than that all in (with AppleCare) for the last 2 iPhones I bought, I dont understand why everyone is getting so hung up on it.Just take apple up on their wondrous upgrade scheme (From £34 a month, with a new iPhone every 11 months!)
or ask your carrier to give you a new one every few years
I can't think of a single device I use on a daily basis for work and pleasure more than the iPhone.

My man maths will put me towards the X as what is the point of having the 8 when you can have the X for approx £250 more?
I paid £700+ for 7 128gb the 8 will be the same price?
X will be a £1000, so £100 down and £45 a month.
for a low data plan (45). If you want a decent amount such as 8GB you will be paying 55 at leastMy man maths will put me towards the X as what is the point of having the 8 when you can have the X for approx £250 more?

Anyone think the relevance of the higher capacities is on the wain ?
My 6 is a 64 GB and about half used, never cleared it down, using Spotify for music, taking a few pictures and a bit of video, bit of space for something to do offline, dont feel the need to get one with loads more storage.

Yeah, i'd agree, there are still some of us old farts though who still buy CD's and lossless them onto the device, I say old fart, 33, but.... actually having all my tunes on my phone without the new of Cloud of Streaming is important to me..... you never know which field you might be in the middle off to get a party going. Or something like that!My 6 is a 64 GB and about half used, never cleared it down, using Spotify for music, taking a few pictures and a bit of video, bit of space for something to do offline, dont feel the need to get one with loads more storage.

My wife needs more than 64. 128gb would be the sweet spot but knowing apple it will be 64 or 256. Start storing movies and holding 1000s of photos and you will blow that upMy 6 is a 64 GB and about half used, never cleared it down, using Spotify for music, taking a few pictures and a bit of video, bit of space for something to do offline, dont feel the need to get one with loads more storage.

I 'm predicting a regular phone which will have one of two unique features which will be pretty minor and Samsung have probably had on their phones for years.
Also I'm predicting they will make an anniversary phone with all the bells and whistles and will cost about £10k and have some sort of designer like Hermes cover or something a bit like the Apple Watches.

she doesn't back it up until it's full. That's the issue
I use about 40gb but i would take the 128g if it's available.
Not backing up at least once a month is really not a great idea. I've seen people in hysterics and on the verge of a breakdown because they didn't back up precious photos and videos of dead family members / newborns or work documents they had spent months working on.I use about 40gb but i would take the 128g if it's available.
Then you tell them they can get it all back but it will cost about £300 -£500.
It's not worth the risk especially when a decent 2TB external hard drive is about £80 -£150.

Yes, I was thinking this today. Most of my stuff is in the cloud - my 7 is a 128 of which 92 is available. I use Spotify for music and download a couple of playlists... photos are in Flickr. My 6 is a 64 GB and about half used, never cleared it down, using Spotify for music, taking a few pictures and a bit of video, bit of space for something to do offline, dont feel the need to get one with loads more storage.
Not sure what the X will have - too much I reckon.
