That cost (that I thought was a lot) has kept me to a spinning USB3 option.

No rules to break on tech sharing... on naming & shaming is not allowed.

It's a Seagate Goflex STAE121 (which was then replaced by the STAE128 I think)

Ah! Bought something similar many moons ago, a firewire 400 adapter that never worked. Never thought of that. Seagate as it happened. Did not supply enough power to the unit I was trying to use. (working with a eMac).
