One of my friends wants one and he said for me to tell them to go here at 6am when they update stocks. You can then reserve to pick one up that day from various stores;

https://reserve-prime.apple.com/GB/en_GB/reserve/i...

Just in case anyone is interested it beats waiting 4 weeks or whatever.

I ordered one on launch day, had the expected delivery of 13th to 20th November, and it was delivered yesterday smile

Really pleased with it so far, and really impressed with the facial recognition. Not had a chance to try the camera out yet, but everything else works really nice, fast, and smooth.

In hindsight I wish I went for the silver one now rather than space grey, but not a problem. Scared to death of dropping it though! Now just need to find a nice decent case for it...

I get my silver 64 a week tomorrow (17th) and can’t wait ... gone for the white silicone Apple case to protect but don’t know if I should get an otter box ordered as I’m a little conscious of its fragility

A pal of mine was over from California last week - and irritated that I had an X because his isn't arriving until mid December.

There seems to be very choppy supply.

It's worth waiting for, very pleased with mine.

Happy with mine, but restoring from a backup taken on my 6S+ has had some unexpected quirks, like this morning I managed to buy a Costas on my credit card because the default Apple Pay card had changed. #firstworldproblems

Various apps crash(ed) on startup too, notably all of my banking ones. Had to delete them and reinstall, going through all of the faff of setting up the accounts again.

Well I passed an apple store this afternoon and couldnt resist an X....

£46.50 per month on a 0% deal over 20 months. Was prepared to pay a grand (somehow!) but why would anyone when its available in store on interest free!
Did you get to take one away?
Yep. Got lucky with a delivery apparently. Bentall Centre Kingston.

I think that stock is coming through a bit faster now. I have got a reservation at the same store that was due on 18th November, but they messaged me last night to say it is ready to pick up now.

Possibly been answered before, but can you wirelessly charge the X when it in a silicon / leather case?

Mine's due this time next week and I'm a wee bit excited

IME: If the case is thin enough (no otterbox) and depends on the charger a bit as well.

Basically it boils down to distance. Some chargers for example will have a 2mm plastic cover, some will have 0.5mm, some cases will be 5mm, others 2mm...
There's a limit on the distance it works (obviously).
3mm in total will usually work, 7 for example could be iffy (very sensitive to exact positioning).

I'm a little pissed off. I had a pre-order with Apple to be delivered 13th-20th. I then saw that Carphone wehouse were guaranteeing delivery on the 10th so placed an order with them last week. Called them Wednesday to make sure it was coming. "No problems, it'll be with you." Cancelled my Apple pre-order before they took any money. Got a text message last night from CPW "Sorry, we don't have any stock, we'll let you know when you can expect your phone." They basically told lies just so they had hold of the money for a few weeks.

Why didn't you just wait in the first place? What's the rush? I don't mean to sound like a complete asshat but, you know, a bird in the hand and all that.

I was in a the US a couple of weeks ago and Apple stores in two malls we visited had people held in "pre-queues" in the mall aisles, and then long lines inside the stores themselves. This was during the week too, when most people would be at work.

+1

I had an Apple order in for 13-20th, and I got the phone yesterday. Don't cancel anything until you have the phone in your hands, particularly as Apple doesn't charge until they're preparing to dispatch anyway.

Sorry for your inconvenience, but you screwed things up for yourself here.

Wireless charging works fine through my Spigen case.

I'm not an iphone type, being tied into the Android ecosystem with Android Auto, but the animoji karaoke videos that people are putting together with the face recognition is definitely a way of using the tech I don't think Apple might have expected.

I have to say that is quite awesome smile

Had mine for a week now, and can't really see what all the fuss is about. Still haven't worked out how to transfer my music over, I'm sure I used to do it via itunes but I must be getting old.

FaceID isn't as compromised as I was expecting to be honest, perhaps I should've had a bit more faith. In practice I haven't even noticed it's there. In a perverse way it works so well that I have concerns about how secure it is!

Well I’ve now had it a day and I must say, I think I’m disappointed. I don’t know what I expected other than a speed bump and different screen but I think the idea of the X is better than the reality of it for me.

I was definitely struck down by ‘COOL GADGET!’ alert whilst walking past the apple store hehe

Ah well it’s still very nice to have for a few years. First world problems etc etc etc.

It feels like there's going to be a Plus size version of it next year. Some places are already doing the whole rumour-mill "what we know about the iPhone 11" thing... ugh.

I like mine, Face ID works well - but after my 6+ it could do with being a bit bigger. I've had to increase the font size so I can read emails etc.

I was quiet pelased with myself for keeping a phone for 3 years, but I can see me upgrading in a year if they do a X+.
