I purchased a Hikvision NVR but it is quite slow to use. What do other people use? I considered using an old PC but was unsure if this would be hungry on the electric?

Any advice?

Normal quite good hikvision stuff unless it's a base model. Not much out there which will be much faster unless you start to pay big money.

I just run the Hikvision storage server on a Windows 10 virtual machine running on my HP Micro Server. Run perfectly accessing locally and remotely.
