I've been waiting for mine since last Tuesday on an O2 refresh upgrade but their courier has lost it. They have already put me on the new contract (started Tuesday when the phone was meant to arrive) so I'm thinking about cancelling it under the 14 day cool off period and going to Vodaphone or EE. Only downside is that the 4g signal is not as good locally but kind of feel like cutting of my nose.

Not happy.

I can't find a way of rejecting calls with my own text message, can it be done?

Are Huawei pretty good at rolling out the latest Android security updates? Considering the P20 Pro or S9+, but cautious about Huawei and the security side.

Cheers
I think Huawei themselves are.... but if you're on O2 and they've branded the phone, then forget it. They took over a year to get the flagship P9 (at the time) upgraded to the next version of Android. I think by the time they did, everyone was moving on to the next installment. Absolutely woeful, and they were equally bad with the security updates.

Did call Three get this deal? I've looked what they're offering online and nothing is this good. I'm on SIM only with Three and considering upgrading to a P20 Pro on a proper contract..

I'm enjoying the phone - Battery life is a bit hit and miss sometimes, but if I stay away from games (the only one I play is Clash of Clans really) battery life can leave me with 40% odd at the end of the day (6am-7pm)

However, I've noticed that some apps have battery/usage issues. Every now and then, I get a warning that *app* (often facebook) is consuming battery by using bluetooth. I've turned off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth background scanning but this seems to make no difference....

Any thoughts?
The official Facebook app is bloody awful. Personally I'd either use the mobile web version in a browser or use an app called Metal Pro.

Thanks.

I may have to call them and see if they will get close to the EE deal, which is quite a bargain. I'm not opposed to switching provider but Three have generally been good for me.

I use mine with my Sonos S1, there's a button to press on Play Music and it brings up a list of items you can stream to, including my Android TV and Sonos.

What's the general consensus on deals for these? The £33 EE deal seems good, but are better offers just around the corner with the release of pixel 3 and OP6T?

I doubt they can get much cheaper, my £31 a month is essentially interest free financing of the handset cost, plus £60 over the 24 months for the EE part... Until the handset drops in retail price or a network takes a loss to shift them on, I can't see them being much cheaper too quickly

Mobiles.co.uk have a couple of good deals on, I got Vodaphone £60 upfront (but £20 off with a code and £37 quidco) then £31 a month for 20gb data.

Does buying from these kind of sites have any downside? After care? Network restrictions??

Seems a LOT more expensive in store. ~£40 a month on Vodafone for 4gb data. EE ~£43 a month.

Currently I have a OnePlus 3 and a PAYG SIM so contracts are new to me.

My last few phone have been from places like this and not had any issue so hopefully this will continue. Generally the networks can't get anywhere near the prices offered by the sellers. When I was speaking to O2 I was told the shops cover part of the cost, doesn't make any sense to me.

I think it's getting a bit like insurance where you need to change company each time as they don't appreciate loyalty and only offer new customers deals.

Three are doing these for £29 up front and £25 a month for 24 months. Unlimited calls and 4GB internet. I've just ordered one. You have to call Three direct to get the deal - someone shared it on Hot UK Deals. Looking forward to it after giving my Pixel 2 to the wife and trying and failing to settle for a budget Moto G6!

Battery life seems a little hit and miss, but yesterday it was definetly a hit. I wasn't on it much and hardly played games (Clash of Clans) like I normally do and when I got home (off charge at 6am, home at 6pm), it was at 60%. After a bit of playing games and video watching in bed, it was at 35% at 11 - I guess it shows how much the battery is hammered by games...

As an aside - I've got a temporary car, a Vauxhall Crossland X (A truly abysmal car by all standards) and whenever I connect over Bluetooth, I have to manually enable the Media profile every time otherwise I can't play music/podcasts, etc. Is it just me?

Chromecast would be the closest thing I guess.

If your stereo has an analogue or digital input spare then a £30 Chromecast audio plugs straight in. They're brilliant I've got 4 of them.

I've decided to send mine back. Just couldn't get on with the camera at all - it doesn't seem to take great pictures of people indoors, and having a 1 year old that seems to be 90% of my photography needs at the moment. Research suggests the pics are best when taken RAW and post processed, but unfortunately I don't have the time or equipment so will stick with Pixel. Shame, as really liked it otherwise (display, functionality and battery life are superb).
