Theme wise, I use Nova which I much prefer to the stock launcher, enables you to backup homescreen layout, customise the phone a lot more etc. Means when you switch phones in a few years time, regardless of what Android phone you pick, the apps will all be the same layout, same as what happens on ios. With some nice looking custom icons from the Playstore, it always looks modern.

HDMI out, yes I've plugged my Mate 10 Pro into a TV, watched Iplayer recordings/Amazon Prime downloads while on holiday with no wifi. Desktop mode is a bit meh tbh, no all apps seem available and while it looks like Windows, it doesn't behave like Windows.

Which one is nova?

I have deep blue on instead of flowers as it was free, but everything reset, so if there is a better one I would like to change.

Generally regarded as one of the best launchers.

Is it just a skin though? I don't find EMUI to be that bad really

Don't like that it changed my keyboard setting (easily remedied) and that the call backdrop has changed (Not an issue though)

Not noticed any difference yet though...

I have also upgraded but found my screen icons now look completely different, rather than the app logo itself it is a white or blue block - it looks really basic, using the same photo as the wallpaper.

Has anyone experienced the same and know how to get it back to the original settings? I want the app logos to look as they are downloaded without really going for a new launcher.

This is my point its reset everything and I now need to go 'fix' it all back to the original ones I had... most disappointed it didnt migrate my settings and lost the theme I had running.

Anyone getting any random reboots at all? Only had my phone a week and it's getting a little annoying.

Mine has started changing things without notice and now I can't work out how to change them back.
I'm sure on the main screen I used to have two locations at the top with time and weather, one for "home" and one for where I was at the time, now there's only one.

Also the bottom of the screen that lights up from sleep when you touch the home button used to have black text and logos, then last week it changed to have a dark fade gradient with white text on it?

I've also done something to the keyboard which I can't now revert to how it was so everything's too big on it now.

This is my first android phone, I've always had iphone before so I'm learning my way around.

Fixed mine, I had strange blue icons. I went into settings, themes and then customise and there is an icon section with loads of options. Picked the first one and I am back to normal!

Odd question... Before the Pie update, when my phone was connected to Bluetooth in the car, I'd get an audible notification tone when I got a WhatsApp or Messenger even when I was just listening to the radio (and not music on Bluetooth) - I don't get that any more. However, I do for other Facebook notifications (that I don't actually care about).

Since the update, I get no audible notifications... Is it just me?

I can never see the time on mine, on the home screen it’s a white font with a white picture behind.

Does anyone else have issues with app notifications not working? I.e. Google maps commute?

Does anyone else have issues with apps being stopped by the overly aggressive battery management? I.e. youtube is connected to Chromecast for playback, lock phone then unlock phone boom notification panel with quick links to pause etc gone.

I do have some work arounds for some of the battery management issues but they don't always work. It's a good phone apart from this, but I won't be buying another Huawei phone because this is so annoyong

Android Auto question:

Does anyone use it over Bluetooth? I've plugged this in to my (temporary) car and when it's cabled up, it works fine, but when it's over bluetooth, it's connected and I can make phone calls, but I don't get all the android auto functionality...

I think it is cable only for Android Auto, certainly all the cars I have used recently that had it were cable only.

Edit: I am really slow here it seems haha
