Thanks James but that's still 4.3 and obviously lower resolution. My problem is if I take a pic I have to edit it with software on laptop so it fits a tv or computer screen, not a problem as such but this is the first phone that I've come across this problem.
There isn't any "problem" - it is purely down to your misunderstanding of the camera. The sensor is 4:3. Your resolutions are either 40mp or 10mp.

18:9 (which should really be 2:1) is cropping the image. 16:9 would just be cropping the image. Either way, you lose parts of the image.

Had a quick go of the Mrs p30 pro last night, the camera zoom makes the p20 pro look rather poor which is frustrating.

Managed to get a good shot of the moon with here's, mine looks like I took a picture of a Jaffa cake. And there was me thinking the p20 pro zoom was decent!
Huawei were caught out using ai smarts on the P30 Pro when taking pictures of the moon, it's your picture but it's not your picture! Plenty online about it wink

Knew it was coming but thought it was later this month? I'll try and request it on my Wife's P20 Pro tonight.

Thanks for the reply, and you are correct I didn't understand. I'm used to just taking a pic and it already being the size that I always use. I wish the phone would crop the images because it's a pain to keep doing them myself. .

A bit like it being made "available" to the Mate 20 Pro this month? I've requested it, but will just have to wait my turn.

That's strange. When I saw it was being made available on the 27th of June I went onto the HiCare app and saw there was an update, so I clicked to request it. A few seconds later the System Update page showed it was downloadable.

Not a lot of changes, although the 30x zoom is fun if you've got something to support the phone.

My one still hasn't appeared despite applying for it and being directed to the update page. It just says I'm running the latest version already

I've got EMUI 9.1 - it's very meh so far. The notifications on the lock screen is handy now.

However, the phone keeps vibrating randomly - It's very much like there's a notification, but nothing shows. I've installed a notifications manager to see if it can pick something up, but it doesn't seem to. What I need to do is reset all the notifications if I can and see what is coming through.

And there's no Duo Video. I'm disappointed.

My P20 has done that as well. Quite bizarre.

I've a friend whos phone is also doing this... I'm using the "Notification Log" app and it's really good at showing me the notifications and there seems to be real duplication in notifications.

Apparently my P10 lite isn't getting the update, lite owners around the globe are complaining about it!

Waiting for the update to arrive on my Mate 10 Pro, apparently it's released but not showing as available on mine yet even though it's a simfree phone.

its the reason this phone has toughened glass on the front and a rubber case, dont fancy repair bills.
