Seriously considering one of these to replace my S7 Edge which is out of contract in September, I was going to go the S9/+ route but currently the deals on the P20 pro are far better and from all the reviews I've read the pro is on a par, if not better in some areas than the Samsung and yet it is £10-£15 pm less (depending in which S9 you go for) with a negligible upfront payment too.
I may pay to end my contract early to change sooner as my S7 is dog s
t slow and buggy as I rooted it by mistake earlier on in the year, plus I bloody dropped it a few weeks ago, cracking the screen!
Is the camera actually as good as reviewed; I know that the S9/+ camera will be fantastic as my S7 Edge one is great, my wifes S8 camera is superb so the S9/+ camera can only be better. The reason that I ask is a few years ago I got an LG G3 based on the reviews of it being a great phone and having a superb camera, when in fact it was an average phone with a very average camera; it was a dissapointment, my previous Lumia 920 was far better a package with a far better camera.

The camera really is very good and very sharp - The portrait "depth of field" effect that it does is really good and a handy feature (and my kids love it). I think it's head and shoulders above my old S7 and even the S8, but I can't comment on the S9
As an aside, I do find that the space bar is annoyingly too close to the "home" button and I'm forever closing whatever I'm typing in

I've got one being delivered in the next few days. Spent a fair few years using iPhones but fancied a change and the P20 Pro was recommended to me and seemed nice when I had a play in the phone shop.
Managed to bag a decent deal too.....free phone, 30gb data, usual unlimited calls and texts for £33 a month.
