There is that - The only phone I ever had problems with was my HTC One M8 where I got a LOT of dust ingres to the front lens. I think I had 4 replacements for that one...

Other than that, never had any problems anyway.

Unless you count my old, old Palm Pre - Which was many levels of bad...

Just thought I'd share these to those that haven't tried it or are considering the P20 Pro. My daughter was at the "Young Voices" choir thing in Sheffield on Friday and I realised just how much I love my camera on my phone.

This photo shows you the perspective we had and I've highlighted where the school was:

At full zoom, you can clearly make out the kids and who is who (specifically my daughter highlighted) in this case. Amazingly, the videos are just as clear and you can clearly identify her (and her friends) in them:

Me, I'm seriously impressed smile

Yup Im holding the phone, does that 5-10 second thing where it sucks light from everywhere.
How have you kept it steady for that long - I've tried long exposure like this and I just can't hold it steady enough for long enough...

Ahh - I tried doing it with fireworks and failed miserably. I suspect it was because it was fireworks... I'll try static night shots some time then smile

Did you sort your parking ok?
Urgh, yes and no. Several phone calls, tweets and emails have basically said "nope, tough st, that's what it costs". And that the cost is set by whoever is putting on the event (as they're a not for profit organisation)... The prepay thing "was not accurate" and when I said "that's clearly what it says on the recorded message", I got the jedi mind trick of "this is not the message you were looking for" rolleyes

And: £20 for my daughter to attend, £20 EACH for me and my son (7 year old) then the £10 to park... And it was awful trying to get away but as it happens I was at the back of the carpark and they opened the rear gates which was handy in the end.

It was really good though

My daughter was at this to and I dodged a bullet by not going and my wife and her mum went along.

Then I saw the videos and thought st, I really missed out there, it looked fabulous. Kids all loved it too.

yours sincerely, a lowly P20 (not pro) owner
I bhed and moaned about going as well - A LOT. But got there and as soon as it started the atmosphere was amazing, the venue was good and the singing was good as you can see.

My daughter won't do this again so it was nice to have watched it - she did it last year and her mum went and said that it was good. I know a few other kids that did it and they all loved it too smile

Is it just a skin though? I don't find EMUI to be that bad really

Don't like that it changed my keyboard setting (easily remedied) and that the call backdrop has changed (Not an issue though)

Not noticed any difference yet though...

Odd question... Before the Pie update, when my phone was connected to Bluetooth in the car, I'd get an audible notification tone when I got a WhatsApp or Messenger even when I was just listening to the radio (and not music on Bluetooth) - I don't get that any more. However, I do for other Facebook notifications (that I don't actually care about).

Since the update, I get no audible notifications... Is it just me?

Android Auto question:

Does anyone use it over Bluetooth? I've plugged this in to my (temporary) car and when it's cabled up, it works fine, but when it's over bluetooth, it's connected and I can make phone calls, but I don't get all the android auto functionality...

Question about Android Auto - When I'm using it, I've noticed that charging is either glacially slow or doesn't happen. Is it just me?

And if this is a problem, is there some kind of magic USB-C dual cable thing out there?

mine charges ok But it does depend on your usb charger! You need one that supports huwaiwei supercharging

I don't have a problem with the charge speed (well, I do, but I can live with it for now) through the adapter - It's using android auto that's the problem as I plug direct in to the USB input slot for it...

Ahh, that makes sense - I guess there's no good way of using Android Auto AND charging the phone then...

I've just been to a Gymnastics competition and I've got a question about image stabilization whilst recording a video and how bad it is: This is the video:

https://youtu.be/0b6Vo9ZsT3M

Am on Android 9.0 and it's in 4k (apparently) and it's really shaky.

This was last year and as you can see, it's significantly smoother:

https://youtu.be/lOTNLcfpPxM

Exactly the same venue totally different quality. Has anyone else got this problem - or noticed it? And can I fix it?

I've sussed it. I recorded in 4k mode which doesn't have or do image stabilization - all other modes do.
