New MacBook Pros
Discussion
For similar money second hand would you go for a 2017 256gb or 2016 512gb model? Both 13" non-touchbar.
I currently have a 256gb Air (upgraded from 128gb) which is just over half full, with a full 128gb Jetdrive card in the SD slot (which could live on an external drive tbh) so need at least a 256gb.
Is the 2017 keyboard and improved processor performance worth the sacrifice in storage space?

should be a Mac event this month, I wonder if they will give the non-touchbar MBPro an 8th gen processor and fixed keyboard ?? thats generally what i'm waiting for... or... just get a touchbar one now... hmm ...
From what I've read there is a chance that they will do away with that model and whatever the Air replacement is will take its place. I think if they were going to update it they would have done it when they did the rest of the MBPs. I bought a 13.3" MPB base spec when I was on holiday in the States earlier in the year and have only used it twice as I find the latest 12" fast enough for me, especially now that I have a 27 4K external display.
If anybody wants a "as new"/used twice MBP 13.3" 128GB/8GB in Space grey for £800 it will be in the classifieds soon....

I've just put an order in for a 13" tbMBP, 16/512 to replace my 2012 MBA.
Hopefully will be a really big step up in performance and niceness.
I got a 2017 13" 8/512 touchbar MBP recently, as an upgrade for my 2014 i5 4/256 MBA, and it is a seriously nice upgrade. Keyboard takes some getting used to though.Hopefully will be a really big step up in performance and niceness.
I'm interested to try the new MB Air keyboard. I've mostly got used to the new generation of Macbook keyboards but it wasn't until I was working on a 10 year old Dell a few weeks ago that I realised how much nicer those old keyboards were! Trackpad was terrible though and that's one area where Macbooks win every time.
