Quiet portable fans, but not Dyson money

Need 3 so wallet not that keen to get Dysons!
Seen Dyson style rip off fans on Amazon but the reviews are poor.
Can anyone recommend something? Maily for the kids at night so quiet as poss.

Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about the noise - it quickly becomes "background" noise anyway.

We've got one of these which is pretty quiet and sends the kids off to sleep without issue. I even programmed by harmony remote to control it, y'know, just because I can!

Can't go wrong with the basic ones from Screwfix e.g. desk fan or pedestal fan, but good luck finding them in stock at the moment!

Large blades and low rotation speeds are what you need to minimise noise.

I bought an el cheapo 12" Daewoo-branded fan from Home Bargains, and it's decently quiet. Looks exactly as cheap and crap as you'd expect, but actually performs quite well. Should have bought a few of 'em, it was only £12 or thereabouts.
