Is $350 likely to translate to £350 here?
No, cheaper. £330 https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/graphics-card...

I think AMD are releasing their next wave of mid range cards this week so this probably a response.

What we need is some high end AMD cards to keep Nvidia in check.

Only just, then.

Typical exchange rate for tech - take off the $ sign, put on a £ sign, and then take off a tiny amount.

Still, at least it's marginally better than the old rate of just changing the $ for a £. But not much better.

Well that's pleasing to hear.... as I just spent £420 on a 1070ti about a month ago. FFS.

Plenty on eBay but my goodness prices are staying firm.
Bought one in the end, a FE for £450 off a FB group. I'd like a 2080ti, but not paying over £800 for one.

I play 4k games on a 28" Samsung @ 60fps

I got a 2070 for 340 quid in the states a couple of months ago with a free copy of BFV. Ridiculous bit of kit which has just turned the rest of my previously acceptable game PC into one massive bottleneck 50FPS on ultra BFV at 1440p and it's running at 30% with my cpu totally maxed out... ugh

i5 4590 unfortunately. Socket 1150 doesn't give me much room to upgrade. I'm wondering whether to be a skinflint and pick up a 4790 on ebay and see if a couple more cores helps or bite the bullet and upgrade early (for me) to LGA2060

I'm off to Oz in March might pick one up there currency is favorable and I can reclaim the sales tax on the way out.

Sounds like you should take an extra suitcase and fill it up with RTX's!

Would you then not have to pay vat on the way back in?

Hmmm, interesting.

I'm thinking of a RTX 2060 to go with my i5 3570K running at 4.4. Apparently I'd get a slight bottleneck at 1440p on some titles. The slightly newer GTX 1660ti might be a better match, cheaper to boot.

Ordered a 2060. Comes tomorrow.

Going to get a 1440p monitor too and then see how the new AMD chips look in the summer and then upgrade the cpu and mobo then.

Other dilemma is I got a free game to redeem. Either Battlefield V, Anthem, or Metro Exodus!

What are gtx 1660 cards like compared to the 10 and 20 series cards?

Can only give anecdotal as have researched a bit before making my decision.

The GTX 1660ti seems to be the best all round card now for 1080p - I was sorely tempted but the RTX 2060 wins out if you want decent 1440p and if you get lucky, some will happily OC to almost 2070 levels.

It's still an RTX card btw, just with features turned off. The naming is misleading.

nVidia do seem to have started to cause confusion with the naming of their recent cards. yes

I’ve just replaced an ageing R9 390 with a GTX 1660 Ti. My monitor is 1080p 144Hz and I am playing PUBG at max fps at ultra settings (except for foliage) without any issue. It runs quiet as well, my old card was a tad on the noisy side. Overall, so I am very impressed so far.

What CPU is it paired with?
