Problem is the 1080Ti doesn't quite cut it @ 4K/60. Mind you, neither does the 2080 hence why I keep looking at the 2080Ti.

Can't see them cutting prices on the new cards unless AMD spring a surprise but that's not likely.

No, but the new cards will affect used prices as people upgrade and sell their old card.

But most people who already have a 1080Ti will probably give the new cards a miss, IMO.

I've got a RX480 at the moment so I've been waiting ages for the new cards so that I can make the leap to a decent 4K card. Price is just putting me off, that and the fact that the Ti FE cards have been showing out of stock for weeks.

Yep, I have a 2080Ti on order. Was supposed to be here today, delayed by a week. Sad times.

I know it's not good 'value', but frankly I don't much care. I wanted something that gave me a decent 4k gaming experience and I didn't have to worry about for a long while.

Sure, it's expensive, but so is everything these days.

No doubt as soon as it's available again here, https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/buy/, I'll get one myself.

Price increase over the last gen Ti card is nuts though.

I have a 1080 so in a holding pattern.
Mind you I don't have a 4k monitor so overkill for me.
Would have a use if I upgraded that and probably pretty good for VR. I have a Pimax 8k ordered and they are recommending a 1080ti minimum!

I'm running a GTX 980 OC at 3440x1440 (plus two other smaller monitors) plus an Oculus Rift for VR, and it seems to cope. But I fancy an upgrade to a 1080 and may as well make it a 1080ti.

I simply can't justify the prices of the new RTX cards though - it's crazy.

I think we're seeing the effect of increase in the price of silicon in the last year or so - I can't see these RTX cards being cheap to make. And with the 10 series chips still in inventory and AMD having no response, do they need to cut profit margins? I don't think so.

Just to update this, I got a shipping notification yesterday.

Was anyone else nuts enough to order one?

1080ti still selling on ebay for 500+
I reckon NVidia keeping the 2080 price so high is keeping second hand prices high.

Still listed as out of stock on the Nvidia store or I’d have ordered one already.

Seems supply chain issues caused delays but they seem to be finally shipping them again.

nVidia MSI 1080Ti Gaming X 11GB (which is the one I am most interested in) seems to be still holding strong at £500-£600 on eBay sold listings
https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_s...

Having said that, one grey import went for £89.99 (sounds legit - not), and a used for £125 (someone got a bargain) but they're atypical. Of 92 matches in Sold Listings, most seem to be £500-£600

The RTX2070 has just been released in the states, and due for release here shortly.

Prices look like they will be equivalent to the GTX1080Ti

I'm not sure what this will do to GTX1080Ti prices. Hopefully it will make them fall but I'm not so sure in this crazy graphics market right now, with the cryptominers keeping prices up.

Not sure that 1080Ti prices are going to go down any lower. They’re EOL and stocks are just being run down.

Might be some decent Black Friday deals but I think they’ll be gone by the New Year.

Just in time for Nvidia to drop the prices of the 2000 series cards, at least that’s my guess.

My EVGA 2080Ti XC Ultra should be arriving on Thursday, other new PC bits arriving on Tuesday. Didn’t want to bite at current prices but needed a new PC and it’s for a 4K TV so figured I might as well get the best I could currently get.

I very nearly bought a used MSI GTX 1080Ti Gaming X 11GB for £500 today, but decided against it in the end as I'm still in a "want" situation rather than a "need". It was close though. smile

Has anyone else bought a 20xx card yet? I currently have an Aorus 2080 Ti but I am just about to return it because I don't think the cooling/fans are very good at all compared to the EVGA Classified 1080 it was replacing. Anyone have the Strix or FTW3?

Here is the Time Spy Standard score for 2080 Ti: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/30339772 vs. 1080: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/18440529

I know it's not the same but I have a 980ti Strix and it's very good, runs cool and silent most of the time and makes little noise when pushed.

I'm just about to go with a 1080Ti as I just don't think the 20xx series are worth it right now. But I will be sticking to MSI as I have been buying their cards for years and have never had any problems. Not with reliability or with cooling.

I usually go for their Gaming X sub-brand but the sums aren't adding up on that one for me, and the Armor OC looks to be the sweet spot in the range. Amazon have it for £516 + VAT right now, whist the Gaming X is £100+ dearer for only slightly better overclocking.

Best price on any 1080Ti I have found so far is the Zotac mini at £499 + VAT, but it's an unknown quantity for me so I passed.

Nigh on £1.5k for a high street graphics card.

No wonder the market hasn't really changed for the older spec cards.

I had a 780 Strix in the past and it was very good as well. I think they are about the best from cooling / noise perspective but I have found the top-end EVGA cards maybe clock a little bit higher and also have very good cooling.

Yes financially they do not make sense at all.
