If you have a CD drive in the MacBook - just get a Convertor.
Then replace CD drive - with the convertor - and insert an SDD

You can then clone drive using super duper

That's interesting what you mention about replacing the DVD drive with the SSD, do you need to take the iMac to pieces to replace that or can you eject the whole assembly?

Talking of cloning the drives, am sure I watched a YouTube video where the guy used the built-in Apple Disk Utility app to clone the internal drive onto an external SSD. I didn't need to do that because by the time I watched the video my internal iMac drive was sitting on the desk surrounded by screws!
