I'd like to get a pair of headphones, ideally noise cancelling, ideally Bluetooth that fitted over rather than on my ears. The circumaural headphones that I've tried in the past didn't have a deep enough recess for my outer ear to fit into, and although they feel comfortable for ten minutes or so after that the slight rubbing on the outer edge of my ears becomes unbearable. I've not been told that my ears stick out more than normal but maybe they do.

Any recommendations? Budget is very flexible.

Sony XM3's should be better value now the XM4's are out, or the Bose equivalent.

I have XM3's and cant fault them really.

The NC is pretty effective and they BT to my phone no issues at all.

I also use mine when playing thro my amp and they seem fine. Having just bought a pair of the Muslady wireless jobbies to get from guitar to amp. Im now toying with doing the same for the headphones.....

Thanks for that. Would you be able to comment on the depth of the ear cups? I've just had my wife measure my ears and they stick out about 30mm, and are about 70mm from top to bottom. It's not information the Sony have bothered to include in the specs.

Thanks for that useful info. I'll look into the possibility of increasing the size of the ear cushions.

Anyone bought the PX8 from B&W?

Looking at a pair for my birthday, currently have an old pair of Bose QC25. Which have been ok, but since moving over to Tidal, they seem a bit "stuffy" for lack of a better technical term, when listening to music.

The PX8 will predominantly be used at the work desk, plugged into the PC via a USB cable to get the best delivery of sound.
Probably the same with the mobile too, and I'm still running an old Samsung S10+, when using the Tidal app

Also, is it worth purchasing a USB DAC, so that the headphones plug directly into that. Rather than running directly from a USB port?

No, that's not what a dac is for - its a digital to analog converter so you connect rca etc. as output, wireless headphones have one inside.
