Any suggestions for a case for an XS that won't make it look too bulky but will offer some protection?

I foolishly purchased an Apple case whilst at the store and it's not great.

Spigen?
Incipio, I've had cases for different phones/tablets from them and they never failed to impress.

I tried them too. Currently got a 6S+ which I wouldn't change for a non-plus, but I do tend to hold it near the bottom with my little finger underneath, and as such struggle to reach the top left corner with my thumb, but naturally now just shift my grip. The double tap on the home button never comes to mind.

I thought the Max would be huge, and I wouldn't want a bigger phone than the 6S+ - but the Max is comprable in size to the 6S+, but has much more screen real estate. No brainer - expect I think i'd struggle to reach the top right corner even more so... but then if I adjust my grip instinctively when I need to reach the top left corner now, I guess I'll continue to do so. Or perhaps learn to hold it in the middle.

Still leaning towards a second hand X though...
I have my Xs Max setup so a swipe down near the bottom of the screen slides the screen down so you can reach it without moving your hand / stretching.

General > accessibility > reachability on.

My latest Spigen case has fallen apart, the last few I’ve had from them have always been good.
Mous 2.0. Is very nice. Got mine yesterday with the (real) walnut back.

Apparently one of the toughest and has been tested to a 45ft (wtf) drop!

People on macrumours are saying the mous case is rubbing on the edge of the camera. Have you experienced this?

Couldn’t wait to try the Xr so I have ordered an Xs from Apple for tomorrow delivery.
And this folks is why Apple delaying the XR was such a shrewd move.
Accurate!

I don’t live near an Apple shop, and wouldn’t purchase the Xr without seeing it. I’m going to the place with the Apple store at the weekend and will have no desire to go back for years after that so that’s decision made.

They know how to play the game!

Nope mine is clear albeit i think it was designed for the slightly different x. Fits with clearance all round but not by much mind probably 1mm on one end, 2mm on the other.

Just as an update, I emailed Spigen to tell them their case is crap, they replied saying the warranty is only for 3 months so tough st. It’ll be the last case I buy from them!

Good to know. I have them on current phones but won’t ever buy from a company who won’t stand behind their product (premium products). These Mous look nice.

I have had my iPhone Xs for just over a week and now that I'm used to it I think it is excellent. To the extent that I had to do something on my wife's iPhone 8 (my previous phone) and found the home button cumbersome to use in comparison.

As mentioned, my Mous seems to be doing the job.

To be fair, it’s only two weeks old nd I’ve not dropped the phone yet...... wink

Anybody with an XS have Bluetooth mysteriously turn its self on overnight? The last couple of days I’ve turned it off by the system menu slider and in the morning it’s active again.

Me too I was amazed how quickly it was that the home button felt really old. I nearly didn’t buy the phone because it had no home button but now it would be the exact opposite.

Are you turning it ‘off’ via the Control Panel? If so it’s not actually off. Rather, you’re only disconnecting from connected devices. Therefore it will reconnect. You need to switch it off via Settings

Went with Spigen but just a simple black liquid air case as it offers some protection whilst being nice and snug.

Feel like a tool for parting with the money for the Apple case but live and learn.

I always activate / deactivate by the settings menu, I never use the control screen to control connectivity.

Thanks for this. I always use bluetooth in my car and turn it off via scrolling up and clicking the icon, so it's obviously been on constantly since I updated the ios. I bet it's been eating my battery!
