My standby power settles at around 100 watts. I'm going to switch everything off later today at the sockets and see if I can get a zero reading.
Mines around 600-700w frown

2X aquariums to blame for that.

Mine arrived yesterday from the £6.39 seller. I was lucky with the battery as although it had started to leak it was only covering the plastic tab & hadn't reached the contacts. The 'down' part of the settings button is very stiff to operate but fortuately it's not often used.

Overall it was pretty easy to set up & seems reasonably accurate judging by the changes when items are turned on. I bought mine as Bulb reckon I'm using much more than expected & I want to keep an eye on actual consumption but I need to get the data off if I'm going to keep an accurate record.

Mine arrived and disappointingly the clamp battery bay was furred up with leaked battery fluid. Emailed seller.
Check the listing, it was clearly stated when I bought mine that the rechargeable battery contacts may be corroded. I cleaned my battery up and it is working fine.
Will do. I did clean up both the battery terminal and the contact on the body.
A set of AAAs after cleaning up the battery bay and I'm in!

I can foresee an Onzo Owners Club developing, where we all meet in the village hall to discuss the horrors of electric toothbrush consumption over lukewarm Nescafé and Jammie Dodgers. :-)

7.2 Kw/H used today. 97 pence!

Off to lash the dishwasher with birch twigs as a penance.

Lol. Good job you’ve got that meter, I’m surprised your able to afford a dishwasher with such a high electric bill. Careful with the kettle, you’ll be drinking cold tea soon....biggrin

:-) The gOnzo tend to make me a bit obsessive. It sits there blinking at me accusingly.

It looks like my estimates of 10Kw/H a day are about right so I'll be bored of it in a week and disconnect it when the batteries run out.

Backfround use (200 watts) is fridge freezer and the boiler, plus a daily dishwash,.

My eletric kettle died yesterday. I wonder if the gOnzo is 'intelligent' and starting to kill off household devices? I'll get a gas kettle to fool it.

I wonder if a couple of ebay sellers are thinking "These things are selling like hot cakes, I must get some more in". smile

Mine arrived with minimal battery bay fur and after a small cleanup is working fine on said original battery pack.

Many thanks OP!

ONZO: Dave, I need to speak with you.

DAVE: What? Who the hell is that?

ONZO: It’s me Dave. Oscar November Zulu Oscar, serial number November niner eight six..

DAVE: Yes, yes. What do you want?

ONZO: Dave, you’ve exceeded your daily energy allowance by 5.23 watts. I’m going to have to terminate your supply briefly.

DAVE: What? What have I done? For how long?

ONZO: You used your electric toothbrush for thirty seconds longer than recommended, Dave…

DAVE: Jeez…

ONZO: So in order to rebuild your energy credit I’m turning off all the lights in your habitation module for two hours, eight minutes, and thirty-two seconds, Dave…

Great timing!

Other half was whining yesterday cos our bill has all but doubled in the last couple of months, and is blaming my new (led) security light... rolleyes

Just bought the £6.39 on (I'm not bloody made of money!) and will present it to her when it arrives (no, not Christmas day).

Oh she's gonna love me! hehe

I see that the "Gridwatch" indicator has come up on mine now (it's 16:22), which the online manual implies is because the electricity grid is currently experiencing heavy load, and meant to encourage responsible electricity usage.

Is the display of this symbol purely time of day based, or does the grid somehow actually broadcast this sort of status alert (I'm imagining they could signal it by doing something clever with the incoming power signal perhaps).

I'll consider mine a bargain then at £5.20 and it should come shrink-wrapped as it's brand new! Just needs to arrive now!

Why not just your electric supplier to install a smart meter?

Its not only free, but also tells you gas and electric costings.

Been on the waiting list - must be a year or more. Something about new meters coming through?

Came to do mine but then refused as the fuse box, which looks reasonably modern, has asbestos in it apparently.
