According to our supplier we should only be using 12.2 KW a day. I only got the meter going around 1pm and it's already on 3.8 KW, mainly thanks to the tumble dryer.

I just asked my daughter if she really had to turn the oven on to cook her Vegan pizza hehe:

Why dont all of you get smart meters? You know they do exactly the same?

Well for one thing, not all energy suppliers are installing smart meters at this time.

Mine refused due to my fusebox containing asbestos.

Because they allow the energy companies to carry out 30 Min billing, I would rather not have to pay massively more to use electricity at certain times.

1) Not on a standard tariff they dont. And half hour billing will eventually become the norm, if not compulsory.

2) There will be times when electricity is massively cheaper and you'll pay massively less.

Because as has already been pointed out the current generation of smart meters become dumb meters when you change supplier.

Got mine last night. Rather scary (but yet interesting) how much power things use.

Anyone found a way to get the data out, or know a different device which can?

This is quite good

Siemens washing machine on, Siemens Tumble dryer on, Panasonic plasma on, daughters heating for the bearded dragon on, few odd lights on; currently showing 3.5kw being used....

Don’t think that’s too bad..

Oh, paid the £6:35 on bay of E...

Well, it's here!

I'm throwing the kettle away, and taking a flask to work tomorrow so I can steal hot water!

Or the OWL USB+, but the only difference to the £7 Onzo is being able to download the data to a PC. Not sure if the £50 is worth it for somthing I lived quite happily without untill a couple of days ago!

My batch of 5 arrived today, all had leaking batteries, I used some contact cleaner and wire wool to remove the fur but one unit seems to be DOA.

I've placed the sensor onto the first cable (red far left) not the forth like in the instructions, will this affect the accuracy?

I'm not sure if India has a different wiring standard to ours hehe

Assuming thats the incoming power you'll measure the current taken to operate the meter too
One of those wires seems to disappear into the woodwork

All of 2 Watts for the meter - can't see that making a difference. The missing wire goes into the red terminal with the bodge electrical insulation tape

Horror of horrors: 'YOU ARE NO LONGER ON TRACK TO MEET YOUR PERSONAL HOUSEHOLD TARGET'

has appeared.

The contraption has jacked up my entered daily target of 10 kW/h to 10.3 kW/h. What new madness is this?
