Amazon have started their black Friday sale already!

Anyone spotted any great deal yet?

I'm after a Fire Stick and they've reduce the basic one to £25 but I'm still wondering if it's worth waiting to see if they reduce the 4K one as well.

Big discounts on Echo's too, tempted to get a Dot for the bedroom, how's the sound on the new ones compared to the full sized Echos?

Just ordered a Dot, 2nd Gen for £25. Seems like a cheap way for Amazon to listen to what happens in my bedroom.

I don't think it really matters, Black Friday now starts whenever the retailers decide they want you to spend your money

Black Friday is supposedly next Friday (the day after thanksgiving in the US), but as mentioned it seems to be getting longer and longer every year. Amazon's sale appears to be 9 days, dunno about other retailers.

The Echo at £54 seems like quite a good deal. I paid £80 for mine and that was about three months ago. I'm keen to try and Echo Plus. I'm hoping its a decent alternative to a Sonos Play One.

I'm after a sim-free android smartphone. Not looking for the latest and greatest, but needs to be as good as or better than my current WileyFox Swift 2x. Only real "must have" feature is NFC. Would appreciate any recommendations or heads up if a good deal materialises.

Cheers

Huawei P-Smart reduced on Amazon: http://amzn.eu/d/72frqTD

My Mrs has one and it has been spot on - performance and battery life is loads better than her old Sony Z3.

A good phone for £149
However it was never £80 more expensive. False advertising.
Was always £179 in John Lewis (149 there too now)

I'm after a laptop, budget about 1k plus or minus, usual stuff plus a bit of gaming. Anything spotted or should I just go to Dell outlet and get a G15 for example.

The 4K stick was only launched this week. No chance it’ll be reduced yet.

And has been £149.99 for a week. Seemed to go up in price before that though.... wink

Cant think of anything i particularly need - though that wont stop me buying stuff.

Treated myself to an XBox One X 3 weeks ago with one of the deals that was around then. Have all the games i need.

Have 3 laptops already so would be hard to justify another.

I'm thinking that most of the deals are Black Friday B U L L S H I T. Don't get me wrong some companies will do the occasional good deal and it's worth persevering for them. But don't kid yourself it's a massive % off. It's an opportunity for companies to shift pricey stuff that no-one buys with a magical discount, or cheap guff that no-one wants but might buy because a discount is waved in front of them.

Where's my justification for my argument? OK. One of todays Deal on Amazon is an LED Lenser torch: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ledlenser-T7-2-Tactical-T...

Original price £59.95 - Deal price £28.99 You save £30.96 or 52%. The normal price for this torch is a smidge under £40 as a torch aficionado whether on Amazon or elsewhere. The highest price on Amazon was Highest * £51.23 Aug 30, 2014, so I'm calling bull on Amazon and their chavvy marketing practices.

That's still 25% off your normal price, which by anyone's standard is a good discount.
