One of my sons uses our smart TV for viewing Youtube videos.

When I visit Youtube from my laptop or desktop I get suggestions for skateboarding and BMXing.

Is it our broadband IP address that is being recognised?

Did you log in as yourself when you first accessed the youtube app on the TV?

I think it's IP.

I can use my phone on wife to watch YouTube videos then put firefox youtube on the tv and a few of the suggestions are from the same channels ive watched or will show me videos from my subscribed channels on my phone even though its not signed on on the tv or ever have been.

I'm not saying its not IP as I don't know the definitive answer.

However, IP addresses can cover multi thousand of users depending on where you are browsing from (eg work).

Also with dynamic IP addresses, the same address could be used for different households from day to day.

Using it to customise content would seem to be a recipe for disaster.

Could be many things without knowing precise set up.

It may be all devices are on the same windows home network and set to share multimedia and all the privacy invasion that goes with that. Turn off the home network sharing within windows. Be sure also everyone uses their own account on each device and logs out when done.

Even so, I'd check the settings in the a TV app just to be certain.
