EE are offering me an early 3 month upgrade option.

Got an S8 at the moment so thinking S10, however with 5g knocking on the door i'm wondering that 2 years without having something capable might become a pita.

Thoughts?

What do you think "5G" will offer you that current LTE technology doesn't?

What do you wish downloaded quicker than it does now?

This is sounding a lot like the replies to someone asking on a Gadget website about getting a faster car.
Is your car not quick enough already?
Why do you wish to go any faster?
What do you think the new car will do that your current one doesn’t?

It's unlikely to be a PITA remaining on 4G for another 2 years.

However if the 5G with it's 6.7" screen appeals to you then I can see it being an attractive option.

Do you even live somewhere with 5G expected this year?

Personally I'd wait 3 months for the Note 10 5G.

I goto London occasionally.

Might go for the 10 on 4g tbh.

I can flog the s8 I've got for 170 quid and be quids in, not just about performance.

1099 not a bad price for the 5G i was expecting it to be more expensive than that.

I went from an S6 to an S10 a few months back.
Apart from the camera, it's not really the big jump In performance I thought it would be. To be fair I'm not really sure what I was expecting, but the move has been fairly underwhelming.

I suppose my point is, unless there is something wrong with the s8, I'd keep it and go on a sim only deal.

There won't be any real world difference for most people between 4G and 5G.

The lower latency could be a benefit with gaming (I've seen 3rd party reports of a response down to 7ms), although I'm getting 33ms right now and that is fairly normal. I'm getting 95 meg down, 35 meg up (on Vodafone). The potential data transfer speed increasing to 10x that would be a nice headline figure, but unsure what benefit you'd actually get for most uses.

No doubt they're going to charge a big fat premium for the honour of using it.
