Look at the plus side... you can now buy her some good headphones with a cable that are 1/3rd the price of the airpods. :-)
Sod that. The convenience of no cables is brilliant.thebraketester said:
Correct.... (ive got bose 35 qcii), but airpods are a a shower of ste for sounds quality
I have a pair and was expecting them to sound terrible. I’m not in any way saying they’re even comparable to the Bose 35, but the sound quality from the AirPods has exceeded my (admittedly low) expectations.mikef said:
I’ve already decided that when this inevitably happens I’ll try some of these from Sony
Let us know how you get on, I’m considering these. That said, a colleague has a pair of the old version. They have a very noticeable blue LED which appear to flash constantly in use. They have the effect of making him look like an airliner doing its final go-around. Not sure I could live with it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not wanting to make a fashion statement- but I don’t want them to be unnecessarily conspicuous. Doubly so because they are £230.

I my world the inconvenience of cables is a (or more precisely sh*te battery life and poor sound quality) deal breaker.

My current fully wireless ones have a 10hr battery life and can be recharged twice out of the case for a 30hr total.Neckband ones offer a reasonable compromise, but still a bit battery life limited

A significant improvement over the last pair. I would say the sound quality is good too, and I have owned a couple of pairs of very well praised headphones and ear buds.
I said it on another thread recently but I would not touch those Sony's or Sennheiser's for anything like the money they are asking for them simply because the technology is still developing at a pace that in a year they will be obsolete.
The AirPods got a lot right, particularly the size of the charge case, the microphone and at least they won't be replaced every 5 minutes.

That was my threadI am coming around to your way of thinking and considering spending a more sensible £75 or £120 on the Creatives or Cambridge Audio respectively.
How do you think the sound of the Creatives would compare to my usual Sennheiser CX-300s which I have been buying every couple of years for most of my adult life?
I'd be reluctant to say as I've never tried those specifically.
I did own the original Sony fully wireless ear buds (the WF-1000X) which got rave reviews for sound but a lot of people suffered drop out problems (I didn't) and I would say the creatives are almost as good, and probably with different tips would be as good. They are more neutral than the Sonys.
