Definitely Alex. I just went for the regular 128GB iPhone 11. I hear it's plenty good enough and can't just justify an extra £400 for the Pro

I think you'll be pleased.

I've only ever had iPhones since they first came out - so I am not the ideal person to give a comparative review. However, all the reviews I've seen rate the 11 highly as a decent smartphone and a superb camera.

You're only missing out on the wide angle lens by having the 11 - and the wide angle is very wide... 16mm or so.

Thanks, I have it now, went for a collection at the Covent Garden store. I'm trying to work out why my photos haven't transferred over from my old phone, even though I logged in via icloud, but I'll get there in the end.

Thanks for all the help. The phone feels solid, good quality, good 20-30% increase in screen size from the iPhone 7. I've yet to play around with the camera, but am happy with it so far.

I think I'm about to go with the 7T (not pro, because I don't want a camera that moves or a wrap around screen in case I drop it), I'd imagine the camera will do pretty well with a gcam port.

OnePlus are not known especially for their cameras, so given your requirement is to have an "amazing" camera, I'd steer clear of those.

Having tried a few Android devices from Samsung (Galaxy S8), Huawei (P20 Pro) and Google (Pixel 2), the Pixel has the best results from the camera. The others take great photos in some conditions but the Pixel has the most consistently great photos.

I'd suggest looking at the 3a or 3a XL rather than the latest Pixel 4. You get the same camera for about half the price.
Get GCam installed (if someone's made a port of it for your phone). I put it on my OnePlus 3 and it's transformed the camera. Particularly night mode where I've gone from blurry, washed out images that look like it's been done with paint by numbers...to colourful, crisp and fairly noiseless images. Wish I had done it sooner!!! Day time images are about the same though, but somehow it's able to do the fake DoF pretty convincingly in some cases on both the front and rear cameras. It's almost like I've had a new camera hardware installed.

Think am going to do the same. I do want the Pro but when I can get the standard 11 from work FOC I’d probably have to be mad to spend £1050+ for the 11!

having tested the 11 and the pro max back to back i would say that the pro max has around 15% extra battery life, a significantly more colour accurate display and the telephoto lense.

both phones have about twice the computing speed of any android based phone and this should manifest itself in photo quality once the deep fusion update goes live on IOS 13.2.

iPhone 11 has the wide angle and ultra-wide angle; it doesn't have the telephoto. I'd rather have the ultra wide than the tele any day of the week.

The regular 11 128gb is £780, so nowhere near the crazy cost for the Pro.

Free in my case, albeit only 64gb but for free I’m sure I’ll find a way of coping smile
