Need to strip several years of oil based gloss paint from some wooden door linings.

The door frames have their new architraves installed so I need to be careful when stripping the door linings.

As such, is the best approach to use a chemical paint stripper (recommendations appreciated) as opposed to a heat gun?

Looking for the quickest and most effective approach and would appreciate some pointers from anyone with experience.

Cheers.

Strip them with a heat gun and then fit new architraves.

Not exactly what you want to hear but that’s how to do it.

Synstryp will take it all off no problem at all. It is brutal stuff, so wear good gloves, a mask and goggles.
Give it half an hour and you'll be able to take it off in sheets, with a scraper - and wire wool for the fiddly bits.
