New DJI Mavic Mini
Discussion
Probably. I have been flying drones since the Naza days and this is the best value and flight time and camera package ever produced.
Yes its flimsy and does not have 4K (yet talk of Mini Pro for next summer) and the app is a bit basic but for £400 its amazing IMHO.
I spent thousands in the early days and just getting something to fly for >7 mins without lawn darting or flyaway was a success.

Am I the only one disappointed with the Mini? I have a Mavic Pro and a Spark as well. I was planning on selling the Spark but will now be keeping it.
I think if the Mini was my first drone I'd probably be happy with it.
Can you expand on why?I think if the Mini was my first drone I'd probably be happy with it.
I currently have a Spark and have it up for sale to replace with a Mavic Mini, so would be interested to hear why.

I use the smaller drones for footage close to me and the ability to use the phone alone is really useful on the Spark. I currently have a Spark and have it up for sale to replace with a Mavic Mini, so would be interested to hear why.
Also the gestures on the Spark make it easy to use.
The most frustrating part though is the app which is very basic.
The thing I like about the Mini is the battery life, that's about it. The 3 axle gimble isn't the advantage I expected.
It feels flimsy and the Spark has survived hard landings which I suspect would break the Mini.
The Mini is great but I think if you have a Spark. It's worth waiting for the next iteration.
I'll be keeping my Mini because for the money, it's worth it as another drone snd one I can just keep in the car as it is so compact.

The mini would avoid that and I could actually use it here, unlike the spark which I rarely use unless in remote places with nobody around.
Extra battery life and slightly better camera would also be nice, but apart from that I have been very happy with the Spark so far.
Pah - a real manly drone is the Flir Black Hornet https://www.zdnet.com/article/us-military-equipped...

Interesting to see the results my local police force are getting with their new Parrot drones.

After last weeks debacle with my drone flying off randomly and having to retrieve it with the use of a rock, I decided to take it back out in a park and try again.
I used AirdataUAV to check wind and weather conditions etc. and my 5300ft altitude was deemed safe so it was go for flight.
Much better results today, the wind was 6mph with 9mph gusts but watching back the footage there was absolutely no movement at all, rock steady. Tested the RTH function again and decided to set the alt a LOT lower (enough to clear trees etc) and all worked just fine.
Back in love with my little mini - It's great!

My first time outside my back garden with the mini yesterday. Need to work on the smoothness of gimbal control and spend a bit more time with the EV settings as some of it has pretty poor exposure settings, but in all, very impressed with what it can do in 2 minutes with no talent:
