Rumours say so, as mentioned here: https://www.forbes.com/sites/andrewwilliams/2021/0...

But you just don't know do you.

I'm not convinced. Global chip shortages etc. What more than the 6 can the 7 realistically do? Think I'll be giving this one a swerve.

I think the big thing with the 7 will be LTE from the new 945.

And longer battery time using some tech from the Enduro too perhaps.

Unlikely to be a leap ahead overall

Fair point. I had forgotten about the country limitation, as I live in Switzerland and am likely to be using it in other countries where it also works already. (Spain, France, Germany). The countries where it works will improve over time, as Garmin sign deals with carriers. I’d expect when the 7 is launched they will announce more countries.

It’s not about making calls or streaming music. It’s for live tracking and basic communications as well as being able to contact emergency services (assuming you have a signal!). Having the full LTE service always on would kill the battery life, which is what these watches are all about.

I agree with Hyphen, beyond LTE there probably won’t be any step changes from the 6 (although I don’t think anyone was expecting solar in the 6), but it was the combination of all the little things that convinced me to upgrade from a 5. I’ll be looking at the whole package to decide whether an upgrade is worthwhile and if so wait until I can get a deal on it (5 and 6 I got with 20% discount a few months after release).

My guess is an AMOLED touch screen, ECG and newer HR monitor as used in the Venu 2.

I'm not convinced the Fenix will be touch screen, ever.

Having gone from a touch screen 610 to a Fenix 5s i'd say putting a touch screen on the fenix would be a retrograde step, Buttons way better.

I agree. I currently have the Huawei GT2, the touchscreen is very annoying. Cross your arms.. it thinks you want to change the face, operating it while running requires way too much concentration on it and when swimming, any water on the face interferes with the action.

I'd been 'testing the fitness tracker water' with a Fitbit Charge 3; cheap enough if I didn't use it but as it turns out I did, daily, for 18 months. Then the screen died. Fitbit have sent a replacement under warranty which I've left sealed and have already sold on.

So I've *PH MODE ON* - pulled the trigger on a Fenix 6X Pro Solar for £674. I read the rumours of replacement but with £170-odd discount plus the desire to get a tracker back on my wrist I've just gone for it. It does way more than I'll ever need (same would be true of a 7). As mentioned, things like chip shortages might factor in and it could be months so I just went for it.

It'll be here tomorrow... biggrin I ordered through Watcho but oddly it's being fulfilled by DC Leake (where I also saw it for sale at the same price). I guess they partner up for stuff.

Edit: just ordered some additional more interestingly-coloured straps from Amazon as well. biggrin

I bought a Fenix 6S a few months ago. Pretty happy with it so far but I do seem to have a problem with the sleep tracking. It never picks up on when I sleep so thinks I only sleep 2-3 hours a day which impacts massively on the recovery time it calculates. This isn't really a problem as I know when to rest but it does mean that the workout suggestions I get are pretty much always rest! Anyone else have issues with the sleep tracking?

Have you set your standard sleeping hours in the app?

Maybe try asking on the Garmin forums? Mine is pretty much spot on.

Fenix 6 Pro is 399 on Amazon at the moment.

I have one on the way. smile replacing a 735XT - I bought it for Triathon and OW swimming and it's been brilliant, but I wanted something a bit more 'watch-like' and the mapping is a big bonus.

Swapped my Forerunner 235 for a Fenix 6X Pro a couple of weeks ago and loving it so far. Bargain of £460 on Amazon. So many more features than the 235 and the battery life is incredible in comparison and I've been wearing it day and night. Big reason for my change was having the map on screen as I do a fair bit of running in the peak district and it makes life easier seeing where you're going!

One question I have is how to change my predicted 5k, 10k times etc as I can't seem to do it? It was all set up fine on my 235 so I got fairly accurate VO2, running zones etc but this one has set up with slower predictions so it's all being thrown off slightly.
