Just done the compare function on the Garmin site.
Meh.
If you are upgrading then perhaps, but its replacing the 6 so a better product for same price for new buyers.Meh.
Tech does tend to be iterative every generation with more significant changes every two generations.
Glad I took a good deal on my 6 at the time rather than wait.

Possibly, but then I consider my 6pro sapphire titanium, and wonder what I could possibly want or need different?
In fact, I've just thought of one - I'd like to be able to record 'HIIT' as an activity type without having to create a workout natively. Instead, I just downloaded an app from the IQ store that still does all the recovery time, etc. (just logs it as 'cardio training' for the garmin algorithms.)
Not sure if I've misunderstood what you are looking for, but the latest firmware is supposed to have a HIIT activity built in.In fact, I've just thought of one - I'd like to be able to record 'HIIT' as an activity type without having to create a workout natively. The Epix looks great to my eyes, but I would have hoped it had the LTE functionality from the 945 and the screen size of the 6X.

Skimmed it:It's got a torch as good as a smartphone one, activated by pressing a button twice, which is useful.
Touchscreen can be turned off in menu, so those owners who don't want it don't have to use.

Disappointed not to see the phone voice assistant integration that came on the Venu 2 Plus (details here )

I'm still on 19.20 and can create a HIIT workout in Garmin Connect, so I don't think that's new. 20.30 is supposed to have an activity that you can use i.e. you don't use Cardio, but rather HIIT. Am I stick grabbing the wrong end of the stick for what you are looking for?
Ah, in that case what I'd like to be able to do should be in v20.30...How do I check version number? I went into IQ on my phone but I couldn't see how to confirm version/check for updates?

Irritating, I've a session in an hour!
I have a problem with my Fenix (6s). I’ve noticed the altimeter is way out. The following screenshots show the problem. The first one was this evening, it’s on a running track and the elevation trace shows 14 laps of the track. Obviously it’s flat as a pancake, but elevation is a bit erratic and then goes up by 20ft for the last few laps.
The second one is a set of hill reps last week. All of these reps start at 140m and finish at 200m high. Every one I finished at exactly the same lamppost, yet the watch reads higher with each rep. Also, the elevation is wrong on the scale as it should be from 460ft to 660ft
Not sure what to do. I’ve tried recalibrating all the sensors, even manually entering the altitude from a known point, but it’s still not right. Even my old Suunto was way more accurate than this.
Any ideas welcome. Maybe a full “hard” reset on the watch is needed?

Lots of altimeter-related stuff in the changelog for the latest update, so try that. I updated mine manually earlier but I'm sure it will self update before long.
