Garmin Fenix 6
Discussion
Hi
Does anyone know how to stop this heart symbol appearing? I have been through all the sub menus and disabled the HR functions. Also done the same on the app.
I have no interest in any heart data-I just want to see the data I have selected for that screen. 6X pro I think - can never remember exactly what derivation it is. Thanks.

You choose what data fields and what layout appears on each screen. Mine needs a charge otherwise I'd talk you through it but I think it starts with long pressing the LHS middle button.
Yes, select the activity, but instead of starting it, long hold left hand middle button, scroll down to *********** (activity) Settings, then select "Data Screens", and edit by selecting the "pencil"....at least that's it for a 6S.

I've been looking for a Garmin watch for the body battery, and using with bike and hiking. I usually use my phone with OS Maps installer and a backup powerbank (and paper map) but thought if it was good enough I could use the maps on the Garmin on the fly so I'm not stopping and starting pulling my phone out. I don't have it mounted on the bars.
I understand it's hard to read the maps on the Garmin so maybe I should go for the 6s non map option? Is it worth the mapping or not?
I did a video a couple of years ago that showcased the Fenix 6s in action navigating a route in cycle mode - its a little drawn out but does show the mapping, a custom data screen, elevation screen and turn by turn navigation with pop up turn alerts:I understand it's hard to read the maps on the Garmin so maybe I should go for the 6s non map option? Not sure i'd want to use the watch for regular route navigation on the bike - the Edge 830 is the sweet spot of cycle computers IMO for size, price & functions:

I've had a run out with Hammerheads Karoo2 since i last posted any demo's and was very impressed but haven't had chance to post a video yet.
Thanks for the replies.
I have set up the screen exactly as I want it for the different sports I do.
Attached is a picture of what the running interface should look like.
The annoying heart emoji only appears when working hard eg running up steep hills- it’s so pointless and just annoys me more than it should!
Perhaps if I type in some fake health stats…

How often are you looking at your watch whilst running? Surely once per km max? I have set up the screen exactly as I want it for the different sports I do.

New favourite watch face lol and it’s animated!
Check out this app from the Garmin Connect IQ Store

Stick with the inbuilt watch faces. The long press on stats to bring up a full screen is really handy
Switch off the touch to light up screen when you sleep. You can still use the normal button.
Switch off the touchscreen during activities (except perhaps when the map is on screen). Buttons are much easier than touchscreen when you're moving fast.
Those are the 3 that make the most impact for me.
