Saw that the other week, wondered where all the Google account holder in the UK would sit with this. Probably not raise an eyebrow as long as waze works . I understand the issue is the UK wanting to re do everything because brexit has nothing to replace GDPR at the moment and they are pre tempting it.
All commentators suggest that the UK will keep GDPR regulations for the ease of commerce with the EU and any other country that has a public that can voice its opinion. I think this move by Google is because they reckon, perhaps have been told?, that the UK will keep it. The farce of Safe Harbour and its replacement is still fresh in the mind. Some people might have a Google account that has no/incorrect personal details. I've had plans to move from Google for some time. Unfortunately, my job means that most of those I deal with use Google to transfer documents.

I quite like Opera. I no longer use Google docs, and instead use Word. The voice recognition software didn't like my voice so went for something rather expensive, but it could recognise my voice. This Google move will give me an incentive.
