I'd want more adjustability on the arms, personally. (Btw, first link doesn't work).

Arrived today - that was a big heavy box! Put together without any drama.
Only tiny disappointment was a small mark on the shoulder bolster - like a faint grease/oil mark, but not very obvious except at certain light angles, so not bothered about getting it exchanged etc.
I guess the base is fairly firm, but my old cheap chair had NO padding at all, so this feels quite luxurious even before being broken in.
Not sure i'll use the pads - theres enough in-built lumber for me, and the head cushion is too high if its strapped-on.
Just need to get the heights of the desk and chair optimised and then i'll get the ultrawide monitor mounted on the wall, and all the cables hidden away.

Shame about the mark on it - worth trying different cleaners to see if it'll come off? Like you, I found the built-in lumbar support perfect but I do use the head-rest - I'm only 5'10" and it's spot-on for me.

Those chairs look like they will be sweaty. You can't beat a used Herman Miller for value IMO. Not only that if you come across a 'barn find' biggrin really cheap you can have fun doing it up yourself. Spares are cheap and plentiful. It's a proper PHers chair.

edit to add: not cheap but someone else did all the work for you https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Herman-Miller-Aeron-ful...

I had a Herman Miller Aeron years ago, found it the most uncomfortable thing I've ever used, lower back discomfort from it. Sold it to a friend of mine and he's loved it, but I couldn't abide it. My SL Titan is absolutely brilliant (and non-sweaty). Horses for courses I guess.

Depends whether you can sit still without breaking into a sweat, really.

hehe Seeing how many got the Titan XL on here that could be a problem.

But if you really believe people are sweating that hard sitting still, I wouldn't advise second hand chairs though.

It's nearly 30 degrees in my 'office' today, enough to make anyone sweat into their plastic/pleather chair. My back, sack and crack are the only things kept cool by the mesh chair, the rest of me is pleasantly glowing. If you're a fat fker I'd recommend a 'C' size Aeron over the B.

If the temperature goes above a certain level aren't you allowed to go home?

Oh...

I could go to the office if I wanted to (I live in the Netherlands and it's more or less business as usual here) but fk that I'd rather fry.

That's why I went for the SL Titan so I could get the fabric upholstery rather than PU Noblechairs were offering. I've had zero sweat issues - although the draft in my office probably helps.

That used Herman Miller is the same price as my Titan, and I know from experience the head/neck support on them is non-existant - so much happier with the value I've got from Secret Lab.

You certainly can't sit back into the Aeron. I use it in combination with a variable height desk so I'll be standing some of the time and varying the height as I work throughout the day.

I suppose my point is that there seems to be better value in some high quality used items which are serviceable than some of these 'gaming chairs' which from my experience have been cheaply built and don't last the course. I had one and the pleather started delaminating after a couple of years leaving me covered in bits of plastic crap.

Well I'm probably the fattest bd out of all of us on the thread and I'm pleased to report no sweat issues on my Hero hybrid whatsoever.

Eeek. Tempted.

But then I did something else impulsive since I bought my chair... Booked the Volvo in for it's service and accidentally [PH mode] PULLED THE TRIGGER [/PH mode] laugh on a Polestar performance upgrade for the car at £495. Buyers remorse set in basically immediately after I said yes and whilst I could cancel it, apparently you get a proper Polestar badge for the boot lid. A bloody badge! A proper Polestar one and everything!

On the basis that the Nitro is genuinely meant to be the same as the Noble Epic, and is half the price of the Hero, I think I'm going to have to lie in the bed I have made for myself!
