Anyone use a gaming chair for work?
Discussion
Roughly 6 weeks now since I received my Hero Black and I have to say it's brilliant - in a bizarre compliment, I never think about it which means it's doing its job perfectly. I'm still WFH so sat here 9+ hours a day and never find myself getting uncomfortable or shifting around. Will probably get another one to take into the office when we do eventually go back as the prospect of returning to my old one in the office doesn't appeal in the slightest!

Feels odd replying to my own post in a thread but just in case this helps anyone else... After two unanswered emails to Noble Chairs I got a response via Facebook. They said this is a known issue and is to do with the backrest angle adjuster having a tight spring in it and being located on the right hand side, this pulls the backrest forward by up to 2cm, which sounds logical enough to me. They told me they're waiting on a fix from the factory, expected in 1-3 months and they will replace whatever part needs replacing FOC when available.
Still a bit disappointing really given the cost, I can't imagine it needs much other than an alteration to the simple hinged bracket on the other side but hopefully they come good. Otherwise the chair is comfy, sturdy and seems well put-together.
I'd send it back, under the Sale of Goods Act it is not fit for purpose and you should be entitled to a refund.Still a bit disappointing really given the cost, I can't imagine it needs much other than an alteration to the simple hinged bracket on the other side but hopefully they come good. Not as interesting but certainly related and very much under valued.
If your office floor is laminate/engineered wood/solid wood, you should replace the wheels with something like these. I have these exact ones.
I have engineered wood floor and in the past year, there is zero damage to the floor. My pals floor with standard wheels is not in good shape. Those see thru mats for under office chairs look st.
Nice idea. For my office chair which is on carpet I removed the castors and replaced with these gliders...If your office floor is laminate/engineered wood/solid wood, you should replace the wheels with something like these. I have these exact ones.

I found having a thick carpet the castors were digging in, leaving marks. The gliders prevent that, although its now not so easy on my thick carpet to move the chair when sat in it.

I don't like the look of the see-through mat either but it does prevent damage to the carpet. If your office floor is laminate/engineered wood/solid wood, you should replace the wheels with something like these. I have these exact ones.

I didn't know these exist - how easily do they slide with the weight of chair and person in it?https://www.amazon.co.uk/BiMi-50141-Glide-Castors-...

Glad I found this thread, even if it was by accident. Around a year ago I was looking to replace my old, very well worn, office chair and was looking at gaming ones, but being a short arse (5'4") most the gaming chairs were actually too high for me. I ended up getting a comfortable office/exec chair from Office Outlet/Staples just before they went under, but after under a year the fake leather is splitting and showing bad signs of wear - think it might actually be due to the cushions not being stuffed enough. Was looking at a Secret labs as they are designed for the smaller person (ahem) and having read here I think I may end up ordering an Omega at some point - no real hurry so at present I can wait until they have a sale on (do they ever ?) Only question will be PU Leather v Softweave.
My SL Titan arrived today and I have to say it's very comfortable. It didn't take too long to put together, the instructions were easy to follow. My daughter has nicked the pillow though so I'm yet to "test" that bit. I really like the arm rests, being able to tilt them in makes a big difference.

It will depend on how thin/thick your carpet it, and the weight of your chair when your sat in it. My carpet is very thick, with thick underlay underneath and I'm heavy so the chair doesn't move very easily when I'm sat in it. On a thinner carpet with a lighter person then it would move easier. They are fairly cheap if you wanted to give them a try.Shuvi McTupya said:
Yeah, there is a 'lumbar' pillow that just sits in the seat (which I dont use) and there is a head/neck pillow that straps on to the back of the chair.
I am finding that the strap rides up and the pillow eventually falls off.
Strange, mines held tight and has never moved. I haven’t got a lumbar pillow I am finding that the strap rides up and the pillow eventually falls off.

You aren't missing much with the lumbar pillow I don't think..There must be a sweet spot for the head pillow. I have to retighten the strap on mine. Not sure why the strap needed to be adjustable, they knew what it had to fit around!
I received my SL Omega yesterday. It was v straightforward to put together and I’m impressed by the manufacturer’s attention to detail re packaging, materials and toolkit. It’s comfortable and practical and I’m sure that it will get better after a few months use. The plastic pongs a bit but I guess it will fade in time as the chemicals disperse. My wife hates it though.
For anyone who hasn't already spent too much on a chair, there's always:

I've been so pleased with my Hero Black Edition that I've bought another one for the office. I was in briefly last week sorting some stuff as we're back in 3 days/wk from next week and was reminded how uncomfortable the chairs are that were in there. It's not the right time to ask them to cough for new ones so I asked if there'd be any issue with supplying my own and they're fine with that which is great. I'm just trying to work out if it's easier to try and take it in in the box or half-built - the box is enormous and heavy and I think the only place it would fit is on the back seat which I'd rather not do...!
