Anyone use a gaming chair for work?

Does the SL Titan not have adjustable lumbar? It's something I've appreciated having on the NC Black.
It does, but IMO it's a tiny range of adjustment and a bit useless. This is all opinion though - I'm sure it's fine for others. I use a small firm cushion even with the lumbar dialled up full. I am slightly decrepit though bodhi said:
If those aren't the case I'd suggest the chair wasn't assembled properly tbh.
Could well be, but I've had them off twice in search of any potential assembly error. It's three bolts & washers either side. Short of under-tightening or having something shimmed between the armrests and the base, there's not much room for the sort of error that would cause a height difference
Losing the will to live with my Noble Epic chair, just not comfortable enough for me for a full day's work so it's getting sold. Now looking at alternatives, has anyone got any of the Boulies chairs, either the Master or Elite gaming chairs or the Effectual ergonomic chair? I'm about 6' 1" and a little over 15st.

3 years in now on my secret labs omega and I still love it. I WFH 4 days a week and all through lock down. It's also much more comfy for me than the expensive ergonomic things we have in our officesZippee said:

Same here, in fact I've gone in about how comfy it is that often the wife's asked me to get her one. The bloody cheek asking for a 400 pound chair just because I forgot my driving license when we went to Tenerife for an exploring holiday. Anyway her Mint Green Softweave Titan will be here later in the week....

That's great, but without wanting to sound rude or unappreciative I was asking about the Boulies chairs, not Secret Lab I'm well aware of SL but the prices are off-putting, hence looking at less expensive alternatives.
The SL chairs and Noblechairs are the same under the badge anyway so if you don't like the Noblechairs Epic you won't like its SL equivalent either!Funk said:

Thanks for that, very useful. To add to this, while researching Boulies chairs I found myself watching an unboxing/review video of one of them. Many things about it are identical to my Noble Epic - same legs, gas lifter, backrest tilt mechanism (which is a serious flaw in the Noble), arms, toolkit and hardware etc. etc. so I'm ruling out the Boulies gaming chairs on the basis that they're also unlikely to be any better than the Epic.I think I just don't get on with gaming chairs so am on the lookout for a decent ergonomic chair now.

Have you tried one? I ask because I think the "gaming" label is misleading. Mine is the most ergonomic chair I've ever sat in. If you mean have I sat in the SecretLab one you mention then no. I don't know anyone local who has one and I'm not prepared to take a punt of a few hundred quid (again) to try it out, especially not on the basis of the post above saying that SL and Noble are effectively the same other than the badge.
Not sure why you would expect a chair that looks like a race seat to be comfortable for sitting in for hours. Racing seats are to hold in you place when you're driving around a track. A desk chair you want to be able to change positions now and again.
SecretLabs might have their own factory in China but they're nothing special. Some people love them some hate them. They know their market. Not stting on them, a few friends have them, and am thinking of getting one myself, just want to point it out.
A common trait though is you can get a more comfortable/ergonomic chair for less money if you drop the 'gaming' tag from your search.

Gaming chairs aren't ergonomic. You might have one that is very comfortable for your frame and that is fine. But most gaming chairs use the same frame from the same factory in China and then have a different covering over the top.SecretLabs might have their own factory in China but they're nothing special. Well, that's suprising.
I have a history of back problems so am super picky. The SL Omega is a revalation.
Why not take a punt? You can always return within 14 days.
The issue with the Noble isn't my back (I'm prone to issues here too), it's the seat - far too firm and flat to be comfortable for prolonged periods. Fair point on the return policy but that doesn't eliminate the hassle factor I guess. If I this was my first gaming chair purchase I might go with it on that basis but if Noble and SL aren't that dissimilar then I guess I'm calling it a day with gaming chairs in general.I have a history of back problems so am super picky. Because many reviews and posts in here said it was!Brainpox said:

So I think that's the thing, I may just be one of those for whom that standard issue base just doesn't work that well.Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
