Anyone worried about the iphone working on uk 5g shouldn't be.

Also appliances direct have 12 pro 128gb blue In stock atm.
That is an insane speed, I wonder how long those speeds will be sustained once there are more 5g phones?

My email says they’ll update me in 4 days, however if I follow the track my order link it says out of stock estimated delivery date 30/10/2020. Now that’s tomorrow - strangely not holding my breath!

I am tempted to cancel as well although last time I tried that I was told I couldn’t cancel until it was delivered!

Edited to add unsurprisingly the estimated delivery date has now moved out to 31st October. It’s moving a day every day at present

My online order tracker just says "1-2 weeks"

Just out of interest, what phone are you exactly waiting for?

I'm waiting for a 512GB 12 Pro in Pacific Blue.

I'd totally have the Max but it's just too big for me.

I had a similar experience when I sent my previous iPad back to Apple for trade in. There was nothing wrong with it but they said the resolution wasn’t right and reduced the value to zero. Never again, I’m waiting until I can trade in at the shop at time of purchase.
You may risk the same problem at the shop. I traded mine in at the apple store which they took from me without even looking at it. A few days later I got a receipt for the receiving my iPhone and confirming its £90 value. So I guess they could have paid me less had they not been happy with it. By then I'd already got my new iPhone but I guess if I wasn't happy I could hand it back and back out of the deal, but not sure if that means I would have got my trade in iPhone back?

I just wouldn't bother trading in at all.

We bought an iPhone 11 for my wife recently in an Apple store, and the guy offered to take her old one off her as a trade in and knock the money off the 11 she was buying.

She had an iPhone 7 in really good condition and he offered £65 for it. I just laughed when he said it. We kept it and just gave it to her mum instead.

I usually just sell them privately and if I had stuck it on eBay it would have made £150-200.

In short: Trade in prices will always attempt to shaft you. Always sell privately to get more cash.
But trading in can come with benefits. I traded in my phone 7 with Apple after sorting it out online as part of my iPhone 12 pre-order, and I told them it was in perfect condition, they offered me £90. In truth, the lightning port was broken meaning it wouldn't charge. They accepted my phone as being in the condition I had said, and credited my iPhone 12 finance agreement accordingly.

I would never dared try to sell my iPhone 7 privately knowing it was faulty, and probably wouldn't have got much for it if I had.

Was that an in store trade in? I didn’t think Apple were offering that at the moment.

I can get $800 trade in for an iPhone 8. It’s worth buying one to trade in.

Same here but so is the Pro compared to my 7 so I just thought feck it if i going big then go bigger - I just want that extra camera trickery the Max will give.

The max really is big tho. I mean, unless you have properly big hands, you can forget about one-handed use with the Max.

I know that. I struggle getting my thumb to top left of a 7 screen hehe I've prepared myself for the challenge ahead and embrace the change wink

I was wondering about that - want the Max for other reasons, so I ordered a third party case (Torras, quite cheap) which came yesterday.

Yes, One-Thumb Bandits will clearly struggle - but otherwise It is surprisingly not *too* much extra bulk over a more “regular size” XS when it comes to my pockets etc.... maybe I just have particularly big and cumbersome paws, but it will fit in my hand just fine....

Hmmm, I find the Max ok to use. I can use one hand for calls comfortable and web browsing is manageable too with one hand.
You guys must have small hands biggrin

Yeah, I could hold it one handed for calls too, and web-browsing where there's minimal finger/screen interaction.

Actually properly interacting with the phone one handed isn't an easy thing to do for me, not without shuffling the thing about. Hence, ah'm oot.

Regarding the screen size
For the ‘home screen’ & most apps, if you swipe down at the bottom of screen, it brings the top into thumb range.
Works well enough for me
