It’s so you can unlock phone and use it etc. when wearing a mask.
Obv for making payments, yes, just use the watch anyway.
Maybe I’m being thick here. Are you saying that if I’m wearing my Apple watch my iPhone will unlock automatically even if I’m wearing a mask?Obv for making payments, yes, just use the watch anyway.

A little off topic, however I've managed to damage the screen on my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I've never smashed a screen before and don't have insurance / apple car. I've noticed that EE (where I bought the phone from, but also local) offer a next day repair service.
Am I best off getting it repaired with EE, or can anyone else recommend a repair service? Thanks.

Have you checked the price on the apple website?
That’s where I would be sending mine if that happened.
Edit: £320 for apple to do it.

I had read that Apple were hardware coding screens, camera lenses and all sorts - making repair very difficult. I guess EE could repair as they are big vendors and are authorised - the guys who used to do it on the Tottenham Court Road are probably less likely to be able to.Am I best off getting it repaired with EE, or can anyone else recommend a repair service? Thanks.

Yeah I checked apple, but it's pricey and a bit of a pain in the arse getting there. I'll give EE a visit and see what they say, if not it looks like a trip to the apple store. That’s where I would be sending mine if that happened.

You need to enable in the FaceID settings. And have latest iOS/WatchOS.
And have a passcode set up on your watch …Alucidnation said:
Must admit, FaceId on its own, or with a mask/watch is brilliant.
I have to agree with you there. As for Apple Pay on the Watch yes that's fine too - I have the same.
But the situations that would have been caught without the Watch unlocking feature - wandering around Costco, constantly wanting to pull 'phone out for camera, make a note, look up a price (I hardly knew how useful the 'phone is!) and trying to get into an app at, say, Caffe Nero.... all now seamless - of course only a matter of weeks away from masks being a thing of the past ...but still!

Not wanting to start a new thread, is there a way of recording telephone calls.
On the odd occasion a customer calls me with an order it would be handy to hit record
and not pretend I have a pen while desperately looking for one?
None that I've ever found. Loud speaker and type into Notes is the best way for meOn the odd occasion a customer calls me with an order it would be handy to hit record
