One of the reasons we stopped offering the Mini to staff was because the battery was barely acceptable when new, so I can only imagine what it's like after 12+ months.

Another 12 mini owner here. Love the size of the phone but yes the battery isn’t great. Mines showing 86% capacity at 1 year old.

i've been trying for weeks to try to purchase an iPhone 13 Pro Max 256GB but they are still sold out until december according to the online apple store. Very surprising as its normally only a month before you can walk in and grab one off the shelf? Anybody got any ideas of where to get on BNIB? O2 / EE and the likes have them readily available but only want to sell them on pay monthly contracts, sim only isn;t available with them

If it gets under something like 80% I think they might replace FOC.

But if battery life is an annoyance, you can get it replaced direct from apple for £69, for another 2 years life or whatever, that’s a LOT cheaper than buying a whole new phone.

You can also get those magsafe battery pack if you run out regularly during the day without easy means of charging up…

I’ve got a mag safe battery pack, works quite well to be fair.

I’ve got an Anker one and it works really well, don’t lose the wire any more!
My 12 mini battery is at 94% after a year.

My 12 pro max is at 93% and is used for hours a day. Quite impressed with that.

My 11 pro max is 94%. I simply think smaller ones struggle more and degrade more quickly.

12 Pro is on 95%. It's not like I baby it but equally the battery health indicator is fairly arbitrary isn't it?

My iPhone X is at 93%. I’m actually impressed, having got it in December 2017.

Conclusion: the Battery Health indicator is bks.

Battery replacement is pretty cheap at Apple these days - £69 for all the latest phones.

It's something I might consider in the future as I have always 'upgraded' to the latest phones and found that in reality there's very little actual upgrade.

A new battery after 18-24 months is like upgrading to a new phone, it worked wonders for my iPhone 8. Then you can get another 12-24 months on a sim only deal, making your monthly outgoing for a phone much cheaper.

It's not, the charging circuit calculates the usable capacity of the battery and compares it to the original capacity.

My 12 Pro max is still on 100% - very heavy daily usage.
