Guys - hopefully some in here have experience of the various phones. I currently have an iPhone 6 but it is getting too sluggish to use regularly.

I’m not too bothered about having the latest and greatest, are any of the older models worth looking at, or are there colossal step ups in performance between them? X, XR, 11?

Price wise it seems fairly narrow between an XR/11 and a 12 which is making me think the newest is possibly the best proposition. I also prefer the design with the flat edges. Hope to keep it for a while again (as I did with my 6).

If the 12 had USB-C it would have been the ideal solution for me as I could ditch the lightening cables!!
The X is still a great phone, refurbs on EBay for £350

I picked up a mint condition used for £550 start of the year. Yep it’s still a slick phone but i miss the 7+/8+ sized screen and want 5G so waiting for the Pro Max to arrive.

I was responding to your point where you specifically said you don't notice much difference in use to your iPhone 7 - as were a few others.

Saying how smoothly and seamlessly it all works isn't the same thing as saying you don't notice much difference between the two phones - and hence why a few of us questioned your statement wink
Lets compromise by saying it runs so smoothly and seamlessly that I don't notice any differences at all smile

Currently using an 11 Pro Max but have gone for a 12 Pro this time round as it was just a bit too big for one-handed use.

Due 5th November direct from Apple, I wasn't quick enough getting my order in.

Are the paving the way for no lightning connector or port of any kind?
Seems to me that’s the plan

I normally wait a couple of generations between phones, but have ordered a 12 pro to replace my 11 pro, as I’m getting a 550 trade-in, and just fancy a new one.

I’m not anticipating much difference, but I do like the design.

I thought about doing that. I could upgrade FOC (apart from 12 months payments down the can wink)to a 12 pro with my carrier.
But as a minor upgrade (5g is no benefit to me, over 200mbps here in 4g) i’ll wait until the 12s offers start in a few months, or wait for the 13!

I have a new one every year, but just couldn't see much difference between my 11P and the 12P. I know what the differences are, but they were not enough for me.

Was loving my new iPhone 12 Pro, but then this picture appeared in my photos. I didn’t take it.

Also, this text appeared in iMessage.

Is my new iPhone, er, haunted?!

Mate wants to buy my immaculate unlocked iPhone XS 64GB. Battery capacity is 82% though.

What’s a fair price? Music Magpie etc. seem to offer me about £320

Has anyone ordered a 12 Pro direct from Apple, the website says there’s a wait of over 2 weeks for delivery, is it taking this long?

Keep going back and looking again. They come up for collection in store from time to time.

I can pick up a 12 in store on Wednesday but the pro is currently unavailable...

That's odd.

Personally I would change apple account password, log out and log back in. And raise a report to Apple.

Keep going back. That’ll probably update & change, it’s been like that all weekend.

That kind of thing would creep me out! Have you had any emails about your AppleID logging in to another device?

The picture is weird. The text looks like dictation - maybe you caught the button when you sent the last message?

Tried to look back and find it - but I saw earlier someone was saying they could order at currys/pcworld to pickup at store and it was showing in stock.

I tried to do that (on Friday) and it said 'Collection tomorrow at 5pm' bla bla.

Saturday came and went and no phone. Out of stock. (no email about it, I contacted them and nothing).

So if you see that, might be too good to be true. Atleast the cost of the phone is still showing as pending on my credit card!

I‘ve just found out that although I have 5G connection at home (in Switzerland), my provider wants me to pay an additional 33% of my monthly line rental charge to use the speed. I guess for now I‘ll just be turning off the 5G mode and getting extra battery life! 50mbits seems more than sufficient for mobile download speeds to me.
