Thanks - but the link doesn't seem to work, I just get a blank discord page.
As for budget, my personal opinion that up to 600 quid is 'fair' for 3070s and up to 800 quid for 3080 cards, given supply and demand. Judging by ebay prices though, the market values them higher
I suspect markets way higher. CEX has my card at buying for £1480 just now, which is a 3080, its nuts and no doubt T&Cs etc but.As for budget, my personal opinion that up to 600 quid is 'fair' for 3070s and up to 800 quid for 3080 cards, given supply and demand. That might be better!
There was a 3060ti yesterday for £512 and a 3070 today for £585. You'd have to be quick mind. Not seen a 3080 for a while.

If only there was something to replace it with I might be tempted !!
Exactly, if I sold it I'd stand very little chance of getting a replacement at a decent price. I've just set it to work by trying my hand at crypto mining when I'm not using it. It's getting a respectable 60.1 MH/s at 135 watts and putting a bit of money back in my bank

Have a look on ebay at the sold prices of 3070 and 3080.
The issue is getting hold of one of these cards at rrp. I gave up trying after weeks of 24/7
I give up in Feb, decided to buy a card at the going rate and just mine the difference. More than half way there now The issue is getting hold of one of these cards at rrp. I gave up trying after weeks of 24/7
If I hadn’t I’d need to pay another £100+ for the same card now, and would have lost six weeks mining (~£180). Crazy days.

They're £1317 now! Like you I paid RRP for my 3080FE.
I'm tempted to jump back into the Discord groups and grab a 3090FE next time they pop up, would seem I could upgrade for the 3080 for basically free.
Now there's an idea, I wonder if I could get my hands on a 3080 FE? I might have to go back on the discord too!!I'm tempted to jump back into the Discord groups and grab a 3090FE next time they pop up, would seem I could upgrade for the 3080 for basically free.
I wish you both luck ^^^^^
I spent 6 weeks looking at my phone and the twitter notifications and running bots on the nvidia website 24/7. Every notification i responded to was gone in the 10 or less seconds it took to check or it was indicated to be the regular price on the notification but then 75% higher when you got the link and even then, not available :-).
Someone must be managing, so good luck.
