Regarding the price drop comment. Do you mean you want to sell it and you are talking about the ebay resell prices going down? Regardless, the 3080 is the best value for money card known to man. It's quite strange to highlight that £650 is extreme VFM but compared to every other option, price to performance, it is fantastic. As is the standard 3070. I truly don't think you can go wrong by getting hold of a founders 3080. You could always sell it for exactly standard price within 60 seconds of posting the advert on ebay, so your money is safe and in terms of owning it for yourself, it is a beast of a card and top end VFM.

I've never managed to secure a 3080 as when the alerts go off, I click on 3090 as it is the ultimate (miles worse VFM..) and I assume there will be less people wanting one so I was hoping I had more chance to secure one as less competition. So far it's worked.

Nah - meant was I going to find a week later I could get it for less money wink

On another note, I normally keep my old graphics card as a back up and while my 1080ti is almost 4 years old it is tempting to put it on eBay - interestingly enough, though by the time I bought it the card had been out for a good 6 months to a year, it was still more expensive than what I've just paid for the 3080 (£716.99 v £649.00).
Be interesting to check but my 1080 sold for £400 and I believe not that many weeks ago your 1080ti would have sold for £500.Prices may have shifted but the 1080ti will still get a chunk of cash. It is a great card for anyone 1080p or 1440p gaming.

Nvidia/Bethesda competition to win the opportunity to buy an RTX 3080 Ti. Yes you still have to pay for it.

WTAF! Probably get won by some scalper who'll then sell the "chance to buy" that bundle for another grand...

After the fiasco that was the Fallout 76 merchandising effort (duffel, jacket, rum, T51 helmet), I wouldn't be surprised if:
  • The RTX3080Ti will actually be a GTX780 with RTX3080Ti branding
  • The 'Exclusive DOOM Eternal Titanium Slayer Mini' will be smaller, plastic, and contain harmful chemicals
  • The 'DOOM Rolltop Backpack “UAC“' will be to carry a mobile phone and made out of polythene instead of rubberised canvas
  • The 'Exclusive NVIDIA T-Shirt "Doom Eternal" Black' will be sized to fit the 'Slayer Mini'
  • etc.
biggrin

I read earlier that production is ramping back up. I suspect there may be a lot of scalpers about to be left with things they can sell for what they paid….or at least I hope!

I've just had to return a couple of cards that couldn't be scalped, the re-selling boom has gone.

Demand for non-LHR cards has dropped a reasonable amount, demand for LHR ones is tiny (i.e gamers only).

I'll be waiting for the next gen of cards now. Probably drop in a later CPU to replace my 3700x at the same time. Hopefully 4080 at RRP !

still x2 retail, there is still demand. Mining is still in demand returns not the best but people will still buy them.

The problem is that shy of FE drops (which could well only be TI now), retailers haven't dropped enough.

I just bought a 3080FE, could have had a 3090 if I wanted (I don't).

Managed to get a 3090 FE just now. The 3080's went immediately although I was able to get one into the basket about 20mins later on a rejected order, but happy with the 3090 as it's basically the price of some of the 3080 partner cars (can you tell I'm justifying the extra £600?!).

Just got a stock alert for this if anyone's interested, Gigabyte 3080, 2 in stock:

https://www.box.co.uk/GV-N3080GAMING-OC-10GD-Gigab...

I must have signed up for the alert around 3080 launch day. No interest to me now I have a 3070 and don't run in 4K.
